Recently, a real atmosphere of scientific discoveries and cosmic mysteries prevailed in our library!During the informative meeting "To touch the stars. History of the Mykolaiv Observatory" students 1151 groups went on a fascinating journey through time — to the origins of one of the oldest observatories in Eastern Europe.
Young people learned about the prerequisites for the establishment of the observatory, an important role in the development of navigation and astronomy, got acquainted with little-known pages of history and its unique telescopes, with the help of which the starry sky was studied.
A special moment of the meeting was the viewing of the film "Mykolaiv Observatory - Master of Accurate Time" — an amazing tape about that, as our observatory has kept for decades, determined and measured the most valuable resource — time.
It was a meeting, where the city's history met science, and the usual information hour turned into a small trip to the stars.
