National Reading Week in the Scientific Library of the NUK named after. adm.Makarov
To the All-Ukrainian informational and educational thematic event "National Reading Week 2023" at the National University of Shipbuilding. adm. Makarov, an open review of modern Ukrainian literature and local history publications from the Scientific Library fund was organized. The slogan of this year's Action - "Being yourself" - means a connection between generations, the rallying of the Ukrainian people around reading as a trend. Reading is important in times of peace and prosperity, but more importantly, in times of trial, which fell to our lot because of the war.
The action was joined by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, and the participants of the joint meeting of the Scientific Councils of the National University of. adm. Makarov and Moscow State University named after. V. O. Sukhomlynskyi.

Scientific and practical seminar "Transformation of activities of libraries of higher educational institutions in the period of global challenges"
In the Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarova, regional methodical center of libraries of ZVO in. Of Nikolaev, 23 in November, a scientific and practical seminar was organized and held as part of the measures of the professional competence improvement system "Transformation of the activity of libraries of higher education institutions in the period of global challenges». Reports and performances were presented to the attention of the seminar participants, which covered practical work experience and theoretical aspects of current issues of library functioning, namely:, vision of the future of Ukrainian libraries; analysis of the activity of libraries of higher education institutions of the city. Scientific library on academic integrity in scientific research
Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarova systematically organizes events to popularize the principles of academic integrity among students of various levels of education. So, recently by Kateryna Bilonozhko, librarian 1 categories, coordinator of the academic integrity promotion group at the NUK named after. adm. Makarov, an online lecture was held for higher education holders of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the 1st year of training on the topics: "Basics of information culture. Library and bibliographic knowledge" and "Academic integrity: course for students ". During the online lecture, the listeners' attention was focused on the common access to scientific information for various educational programs, provided by the Scientific Library, in particular: – additional search capabilities of the electronic catalog; – using the most current publications for searching (in particular, articles) in scientometric databases - Web of Science and Scopus (usage details on the website of the Scientific Library in the section "Prepaid databases"); – search of full texts of publications in specialized databases (example, electronic resources on the Research4Life platform; BD ScienceDirect, Springer Nature, JSTOR Archive Journals). At the meeting, graduate students were provided with detailed and structured information on creating a researcher profile (ResearsherID; Orcid; Google Academy). Various important aspects were also discussed, related to the concept of "Academic integrity" and that, how the library contributes to its support. The lecture included the issue of spreading the principles of integrity in academic communities; when and how communities conform to fundamental values and adhere to institutional practices. After all, if educational institutions in society adhere to moral and social standards, they contribute to the formation of a strong civic culture in society as a whole. The scientific library is always ready to provide assistance in finding sources, consultations on the correct formatting of citations and references, as well as in compliance with standards of academic integrity when writing scientific papers. It is important to note, that every graduate student(-ka) can take advantage of the opportunity to continue cooperation through individual counseling, which reflects the openness and readiness of library specialists. This provides future scientists with the opportunity to receive the necessary support in their scientific development. Today, 27 October 2023 year, on the Day of Ukrainian writing and language, employees of the Scientific Library of the National University named after. adm. Online lectures of the Scientific Library to help first-year students
Employees of the Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Formation of information culture and academic integrity: practice of NB NUK named after. adm. Makarova
The scientific library of the NUK named after adm. Makarova, as part of the cycle of events "Freshman's Month", lectures on topics are held: "Basics of information culture" and "Academic integrity: course for students ". So, 13 October Kateryna Bilonozhko, librarian 1 NB category, coordinator of the group for the promotion of academic integrity at the NUK named after. adm. Makarova, conducted another online lecture for students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering, groups 1351, who are studying in the specialty "Maritime and inland water transport". During the disclosure of the first topic of the online lecture, students learned about the essence of the term "information culture", got acquainted with the services, provided by the Scientific Library, including remotely, in particular, about electronic delivery of documents, and also familiarized themselves with the possibility of using information in their practical activities, which is posted on the library's website and its Facebook page. Emphasis was placed on the book search algorithm in the NB Electronic Catalog using OC Android, as well as publications of their scientific works in the university repository. The second topic was devoted to revealing the definition of the concept of "academic integrity", forms of its violation - plagiarism and its types. Students were informed about the problems, that may happen to them, if such facts are revealed in their works: essays, coursework, diploma. Freshmen were given advice on that, how to avoid violations of academic integrity and determine the correct methods of using borrowed material during education. We learn the principles of academic integrity together with the Scientific Library
Recently, at the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute of the Ukrainian National University named after. adm. Festive biblioworld of the university library (continuation)
It was organized in the user service department at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering: bookishly – illustrative exhibitions "Read in Ukrainian" (new arrivals of fiction from the library fund), "As a gift to the readers of the Scientific Library..." (autographed books from the library collection) and the exhibition-installation "Our home is a library" (spatial composition created from book editions). It should be noted, that exhibitions were exhibited in the hall of the institute, so that the book is closer to its user. They interested both students and teachers.

Already 25 for years in a row, Ukraine celebrates the holiday of unity of users and library workers, as well as everyone, who understands the role of books and libraries in their lives - All-Ukrainian Library Day. Unfortunately, the last two years have been under martial law.
On the occasion of the holiday, the staff of the Scientific Library of the NUK named after. adm. Makarov prepared a series of festive events. As is known, students of the Mechanical Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of 3 course start their studies in the Old Building. Ancient building, within the walls of which thousands of future engineers gained knowledge, welcomes the new generation of students. Unique workshops, modernly equipped auditoriums and, of course, Scientific Library, whose fund in the field of mechanical engineering is the largest in the city.
Employees of the User Service Department of the Scientific Library at the Mechanical Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute of the National Academy of Sciences, in close cooperation with teachers, organize joint classes in the reading room, where third-year students are introduced to the structure of the department and library services. For example, students groups 3221, 3241, 3251 together with teachers M.M. Semenov and V.V. Kuznetsov got acquainted with literature exhibitions, new incomes, electronic resources of the library. September meetings with senior students
The Service Department of the Scientific Library at the Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute has resumed its traditional "September meetings with senior students". The purpose of such events is information about library services, as traditional, and remote, familiarization with novelties of literature and simple live communication, which is also very important in our difficult times. 8 In September, the department was visited by master's students of group 5221M and students of the group 4211. This year, the employees of the department prepared information about a unique collection of modern English-language professional periodicals and novelties of literature in foreign languages. The Bula students were presented with the book “Gas Turbines Structural Properties, Operation Principles and Design Features" authored by S.I. Serbian, IN. M. Patlaychuk together with Chinese colleagues, which was published by Springer and was donated to the library by the esteemed authors. Visitors were very interested in the only professional publication in the department in Chinese – training manual "Theoretical basics of designing ship gas turbine units" (authors G.F. Romanovsky, M.V. Vashtilenko, SI. Serb). Exhibition “... Because who for what, and we are for independence!”
Illustrated exhibition “... Because who for what, and we are for independence!” prepared for the Independence Day of Ukraine and the National Flag Day by the staff of the user service department of the Scientific Library at the Mechanical Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute of the National Academy of Sciences. Since February 2022 these holidays have acquired a special significance for Ukrainians. Enemy weapons destroyed the peaceful life of Ukrainian citizens. Our soldiers are holding back the Russian onslaught with incredible efforts and knocking the enemy out of Ukrainian land. Every minute of freedom comes at a heavy price. Every day, the people of Ukraine demonstrate to the whole world, what is true pride and love for one's Motherland. In the center of the exhibition is a blue-yellow flag and coat of arms - the key state symbols of Ukraine. Symbols of our Ukrainian identity, fight for freedom. Today, our flag and trident are on military positions, on volunteers' cars, on the backpacks of forced migrants, at international summits in support of Ukraine... Yellow-blue colors fly over the free cities of Ukraine. And Ukrainians in the occupied territories keep the flag of their state at the risk of their lives. The exhibition presents materials from the history of the Ukrainian state and national liberation struggles, you can find information about individuals, which were directly related to the restoration of independence, and everyone who wants to can improve their knowledge of the Ukrainian language, cultures, ethnography. A separate exposure, which symbolizes Ukraine's resistance to Russian aggression and the invaluable help of our partners - this is the symbolism of military units, the flag of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, weapon models, and the Abrams tank itself, F-15 aircraft, etc. The exhibition is illustrated with images of magical nature - fertile fields, snowy mountains and boundless sea spaces of our one, free Ukrainian land. Book exhibition "Legendary names of NUK"
"Legendary names of NUK" - a book exhibition with this name is exhibited in the user service department of the Scientific Library at the Mechanical Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute of the National Academy of Sciences. The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of outstanding scientists, teachers, writers - YU. FROM. Kryuchkova (1928 – 2015 рр.) and S. M. Solovyov (1928 – 2018 рр.), which in June 2023 would be a year old 95 years. Professor Yuri Semenovych Kryuchkov is the head of the Department of Dynamics and Strength of Ship Engines (1975 – 2002 рр.), outstanding scientist in the field of ship power plants, also known for his historical and local studies. Author of books on the history of shipbuilding, fleet, in particular, submarines, sailing ships, aesthetics of the ship, karonymics. Issued by 9 historical and biographical fiction publications. He gained popularity among readers for a number of local history publications on the history of Mykolaiv. Professor Stanislav Mykolayovych Solovyov is an outstanding scientist in the field of ship engineering technology, inventor, talented teacher. Head of the Department of Ship Engineering Technology (1969 – 2009 рр.) His professional and literary legacy is more than 200 scientific works, textbooks, teaching aids, articles, as well as journalistic publications, philosophical reflections, publication for children. 11 In June, the rector of Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University celebrates his anniversary, Doctor of Engineering, Professor Yevhen Ivanovych Trushlyakov.
All labor and scientific and pedagogical activities of E.I. Trushlyakova is associated with the Admiral Makarov National University of Technology. A student, teacher, associate professor of the department, deputy dean, pro-rector, rector, always with an active civic stance, he was never indifferent to the fate of his Alma Mater. Participation in the conference in the main building of the university
11 in May, the staff of the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences, already traditionally, took an active part in the toloka in the Naked building of the university. Together with the close-knit team of our university led by rector Yevhen Ivanovich Trushlyakov: professors, associate professors, teachers, employees and students of the library took out books, furniture, shelves made of destroyed and damaged library debris. Preparations for the repair of the crushed building are in full swing. “A valuable gift to the Scientific Library from Professor S. AND. Serbian”
Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarova received a valuable gift from Professor Serhiy Ivanovich Serbin: educational manual "Theoretical basics of designing ship gas turbine units", prepared by him in co-authorship with G.F. Romanovskyi and M.V. Vashchylenkom and republished in Chinese. The manual immediately took a worthy place at the exhibition “Scientific, technical and innovative activity of Professor Serhiy Ivanovich Serbin” (to his 65th birthday )under the heading "Book Premiere". By the way, this is the department's first Chinese-language professional publication. Easter meeting in the library
18 April as part of the meeting “Club of interesting meetings” Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarova received guests. The Bishops' Choir of the Cathedral of the Kasperov Icon of the Mother of God of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine visited the book collection. The meeting was timed for Easter - a special holiday for all Christians, which has many customs and beliefs. Continuing the Rudolph Diesel Case Online Tutorial
17 March. employees of the user service department of the Scientific Library at the Mechanical Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute of the Ukrainian National University named after. adm. Makarov took an active part in the online tutorial "Continuing the case of Rudolf Diesel", dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth of the inventor and the 130th anniversary of the publication of the engine patent. The organizers were professors of the Department of Internal Combustion Engines, installations and technical operation Vasyl Nalivayko and Acting Director. head of the department Oleksiy Gogorenko, and a wide representation of participants - (students - diesel engineers of NUK, employees of the institute, representatives of the Kherson and Pervomai educational and scientific institutes, Pervomaisky Vocational College, graduates of the department) brought, that the complex mysterious fate of a talented engineer still arouses interest. Part of the materials for the exhibition was provided by Vasyl Nalyvaik, for example, highlight of the exhibition – reprint edition 1902 of the year "Diesel Thermal Engine" authored by engineer Marion Lyutoslavskyi. Photographs from the newspaper "Diesel Facts" decorated the exhibition, which recently added to the fund of English-language periodicals of the department. In her speech, Kostyrko expressed her gratitude to Ihor Bohdanovych for many years of fruitful cooperation and presented the jubilee with the book "University Library: from traditional to digital ", which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Scientific Library and a bio-bibliographic index of the works of Ihor Bogdanovich, prepared by the information and bibliographic department on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of his birth. Igor Bogdanovych talked about his achievements in the scientific field, about plans for the future and interesting moments of his life. Also, an extensive book and illustration exhibition was presented to the participants of the event, which included scientists, local history works of Ihor Bohdanovych, articles in periodicals, which reflect the interesting world of hobbies of the birthday boy. For almost two years, the cooperation of the user service department of the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of the Mechanical Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute with. t. n., Professor of the Department of Operation of Ship Power Plants and Thermal Power Engineering V. “Ukrainian children - a Ukrainian book”
The scientific library of the Makarov National Technical University took an active part in the action “Ukrainian children - a Ukrainian book", launched by the State TV and Radio Committee together with the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. Today, an old friend and partner of our library, Andriy Oleksandrovich Krotov, came to the library, deputy head of the Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region, who is one of the most active participants in this promotion. He handed over to the library 37 copies of excellent Ukrainian-language publications by modern Ukrainian and foreign authors. In the very near future, all these editions will find their readers and bring pleasure from reading.

She emphasized that, that all the premises of the library in the main building of the university were destroyed, the premises of the library service department at the Humanitarian Institute suffered significant damage. In this regard, all the main departments, which were located in the destroyed building, was transferred to the premises of the library in the New building of the university. A fund of rare publications was transported here, surviving computer equipment, furniture, property. Now the work of the library is fully established here. Certain problems also arose in the redistribution of responsibilities of evacuated and retrenched employees. At the moment, the work of all libraries is being adjusted. The directors of the libraries familiarized their colleagues with the work plans for the year and approved the work plan of the libraries of the Methodological Association on 2023 year. It was also analyzed and suggestions were made regarding the updated Tables of the main statistical indicators of the libraries of higher education institutions.
