The event was held 24 December on the Zoom platform.
Head of Sector G. IN. Kostyuk told about interesting facts from the life of Admiral O.. FROM. Gray, who cared about the beauty and order of the city. Thanks to the story and presentation, students made a virtual excursion into the past of Nikolaev and learned about the invaluable contribution of this historical figure to the development of our city.. We hope so, that this cognitive event will encourage students to study the history of the city and its individual figures.

17 December, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, employees of the scientific department, of foreign literature and periodicals of the National Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarov offered to the attention of master students of group 5521m virtual digest "We are responsible for those, who was tamed ". The event was held on the Zoom platform.
From the presentation, students learned interesting facts from the biography of the writer, got acquainted with his work, aphorisms and, finally, the main work of Exupery's whole life - a romantic dream-tale "The Little Prince". The circumstances of the writer-pilot's death were mysterious, which seemed to dissolve in the sky and go to meet the stars, - the same, as well as his character Little Prince. But he left his descendants a bright fairy tale, rereading which we always find hope for happiness. This magical book has been translated into almost 180 languages and made him famous all over the world.

Dedication evening "Life, devoted to science "
Annually 10 November is celebrated worldwide as World Science Day (World Science Day), or, more formally, World Science Day for Peace and Development (World Science Day for Peace and Development). Traditionally, awards and diplomas are presented on this day, honorary titles are awarded, conferences and seminars are held.
The most significant and one of the most prestigious international awards for more than a hundred years is the Nobel Prize, which is awarded annually for outstanding research, revolutionary inventions or a great contribution to the culture or development of society. On the occasion of this event in the reading room of the customer service department of the Scientific Library at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering of NUS.. adm. Makarov held an evening-dedication "Life, devoted to science ".
Head of Department B. M. Oleynichenko told about it, who is Alfred Nobel, how the Nobel Prize was founded, what a reward, who are the Nobel laureates, to whom the prize is awarded, and other interesting facts, related to this event. Attendees learned about one of the unique scientific families - the Curie family, which gave humanity four Nobel Prize winners in physics and chemistry. The fate of Marie Curie clearly demonstrates, that only self-belief and complete immersion in science, and often renunciation of earthly pleasures, give a brilliant result - great discoveries. In 1911 from 160 laureates only four women were awarded this title. Two of them are from the same family (Maria and her daughter Irene).
Leading Librarian of the Service Department O. FROM. Dubovik acquainted the audience with a book exhibition from the fund of the department, dedicated to Nobel laureates and achievements in physics, chemistry and literature.
At the end of the event, a documentary film about Marie Sklodowska-Curie and her family - the most famous laureates - was offered to the users., world-renowned scientists, who was twice awarded the Nobel Prize.

Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarova, regional methodical center of libraries of ZVO of. Reports and speeches were presented to the attention of library specialists, covering practical experience on topical issues of library operation: transformation of forms and methods of work in the conditions of quarantine restrictions; formation of a culture of academic integrity; information support of science and education in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic; conducting scientometric research as a promising area of activity of free economic libraries, etc..
There was an exchange of views on understanding the future of libraries and the needs of users in reading.
Also, the participants of the seminar were presented with interesting experience of the Mykolayiv Regional Universal Scientific Library in creating an electronic resource web-library "Arkasiv Heritage" and information mediation of the library in the development of the principles of academic integrity..
The presented speeches of the seminar participants were interesting, information-rich and relevant for the activities of libraries in modern conditions. Exchange of views, professional communication of colleagues in the online format enriched the participants of the seminar with experience, new ideas.

Under conditions of quarantine restrictions, the customer service department of the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute and the Faculty of Maritime Law of the Scientific Library of NUS named after. Admiral Makarov continues to work as usual, and remotely.

12 October staff of the Electronic Reading Room of the Scientific Library on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of NUS. adm. Makarov conducted a media tour-presentation "MKI-UDMTU-NUS: glorious way to the anniversary ". Students of the Faculty of Marine Economics visited the event.
Head of the Electronic Reading Room T. D. The Queen spoke about the historical path of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, leading institution of higher education in Ukraine, which trains specialists for shipbuilding and related industries, maritime complex and other sectors of the economy of Ukraine, and also acquainted the audience with the solemn and festive events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the university, which took place during September.
The audience watched the documentary "National University of Shipbuilding - Century" with great interest, created by the known Nikolaev operator and director Vadim Kirchev. Film, which highlights all the milestones of the glorious history of our school, was first presented 18 September during a solemn meeting of the Academic Council of NUS. adm. Makarova.

Virtual local lore trip «Nikolaev shipbuilding: history and modernity "
13 October in the Electronic Reading Room of the National Library of NUS. adm. Makarov for students of Faculty of Economics of the sea already traditionally passed virtual local lore trip «Nikolaev shipbuilding: history and modernity (1788–2020)». This year the event is dedicated to the 231st anniversary of the founding of the city of Nikolaev and the 100th anniversary of the National University of Shipbuilding named after Admiral Makarov.. During the event, students learned about interesting facts and legendary pages of the formation and development of shipbuilding, stories about the fate of ships and vessels, built in the city of Nikolaev.
An interesting addition to the story were videos about the best times of such shipbuilding companies, as "Shipyard. 61 Communards », Black Sea Shipyard, plant "Ocean". With delight students looked through media materials about modern shipbuilding and scientific activity of the Nikolaev enterprises of SE "Experimental and design center of shipbuilding", LLC JV "NIBULON" and others.
An exposition of books on the history of shipbuilding was also offered to the audience, the city of Mykolayiv and MKI-UDMTU-NUK.

Virtual journey "Therefore, who wants to understand linguistics "
12 October staff of the scientific department, of foreign literature and periodicals of the Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarov was organized for freshmen, studying in the specialty "Applied Linguistics" (city. 1521) virtual journey "Therefore, who wants to understand linguistics ". The participants of the event made a virtual excursion into the magical world of foreign languages and got acquainted with the literature available in the department of profile content for their specialty.. These are educational publications ("English Grammar without errors"), reference ("Dictionaries in our lives", encyclopedia "Popular Science", «Britannica», «World Book»), theoretical materials on translation, scientific and educational literature on the topic "Language - man - communication", art publications in foreign languages. There was also a presentation of the virtual exhibition "Turn your ideas into words" (Explanatory dictionaries in English).
Future linguists had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of foreign fiction. The students were interested in a documentary about the work of the American writer M.. Twain (to the 185th anniversary of his birth), from which they learned, that he was not only an outstanding writer, humorist, but also an inventor.
Participants were very interested in watching the video "Chronicle of the Centuries" about the history of the encyclopedia "Britannica", music video "Symphony of Science", watching the film "Sign Language" and a humorous music video about student life. The viewing of the English-language philosophical-humorous cartoon "One Minute Fly" caused stormy emotions of students.
Future linguists had the opportunity to train their abilities, taking part in the interactive game "Word Game".
It was a very useful and informative meeting, which was a great start for further effective interaction of the library with students.

Exhibition “100 years together with the university”
Books with gift inscriptions are a real highlight of the fund of any library. That is why on the occasion of the anniversary of the Scientific Library, the staff of the customer service department of the National Library at the Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute (MNNI) decided to once again demonstrate to their readers scientific, popular science, training, art publications from the fund of the department, the pages of which are decorated with good wishes, memories of graduates or simple words “Library of the Old Building by the author…”. Exhibition of literature “Achievements in scientific activity and training of qualified personnel of Professor Mykola Ivanovych Radchenko” (to the 70th anniversary of his birth) exhibited in the reading room of the service department of the Scientific Library of the Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute.
Head of the Department of Conditioning and Refrigeration of Admiral Makarov National University of Medicine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mykola Ivanovych Radchenko is a well-known scientist in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, Academician of the International Cold Academy, author 500 scientific articles and published reports at international conferences.
Honored Inventor of Ukraine Mykola Ivanovych has 60 copyright certificates and patents for inventions.

Literary and documentary exhibition "Inventor, scientist, teacher ", which was offered to its readers by the customer service department of the Scientific Library at the Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute of NUS named after. adm. Georgy Fedorovich Romanovsky - Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, founder and president (1996 – 2008 рр.) Academy of Shipbuilding Sciences of Ukraine. Under his leadership, protected 27 candidate and doctoral dissertations. In the list of his scientific works more than 395 names, including 8 textbooks with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science, 6 monographs, 42 training and reference manuals, 50 patents for inventions.
A significant achievement of Professor G.. F. Romanovsky together with a team of scientists is training 7 volumes of the official edition “Rules for classification and construction of seagoing vessels of the Register of Shipping of Ukraine”, which can be found at the exhibition.
In general, the exhibition presents more 80 publications from the fund of the department, in addition to monographs and educational literature, reports presented at International scientific and technical conferences, collections of scientific works of MKI-NUS, publications of the scientist in professional scientific publications. Specialists of the Makarov Scientific Library of NUS took part in the discussion of the draft Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “About libraries and library business » (new edition), which took place 20 May in the format of an online conference. The presentation of the bill was initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine in order to clarify the key provisions and provide answers to the most common questions of librarians.. The project was developed in connection with the need to regulate the library sphere at the legislative level, bringing legislation in line with international standards and providing citizens with quality library services.
This bill is the result of three years of work of leading specialists in the library sphere of Ukraine. To the working group, who developed the project, experts of the Ukrainian Library Association joined, in particular, President Oksana Bruy and a member of the Presidium, Oleh Serbin, Head of the Section of University Libraries of the Ukrainian Library Association.
The draft of the new version of the law was presented by Natalia Rozklupa, Deputy Director General for Research of the Yaroslav the Wise National Library of Ukraine. The speaker of the presentation was Oksana Bruy. The event was moderated by Veronica Selega, Director General of the Directorate for Internal and Humanitarian Policy of the Office of the President of Ukraine, co-founder of the NGO "Library of the Future".
During the presentation, Natalia Rozklupa spoke in detail about the key points of this draft law, including: terminology update, classification and functions of libraries in accordance with international standards and the IFLA Manifesto - International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions and UNESCO; standardization in accordance with international standards; coordination of norms on creation, reorganization and liquidation of libraries; high-quality preservation of library funds; creation of the State Register of Book Monuments; creation of the National Electronic Library; decentralization of libraries; social protection of librarians, etc..
At the end of the presentation, the speaker answered numerous questions from librarians of Ukraine regarding this bill..
Discussion of the new version of the law among the professional community, the public, representatives of public authorities at all levels lasts until 5 June.

Online conference "Libraries in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic"
Employees of the Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarov took part in the online conference "Libraries in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic", which took place 19 May 2020 p. The conference was organized by the Ukrainian Library Association and the Ukrainian Book Institute. The conference was moderated by Fr.. M. The conference program included three sessions:

During the first session, Marina Adamenko's speeches were meaningful and very useful, Chief Librarian of the National Library of Ukraine named after Yaroslav the Wise and Elena Shmatko, Head of the Scientific and Methodological Department of the Lviv Regional Scientific Library, who shared the experience of their institutions on the work of libraries during quarantine and security of users and librarians.
During the second session, the activities and services of libraries remotely were discussed. Irina Biryukova, Director General of the Odessa National Scientific Library, analyzed digital resources and virtual services of Ukrainian libraries in the development of culture, science, education during a pandemic.
Victoria Agarkova, director of the Nikolaev regional universal scientific library, and Svetlana Moiseeva, Director of the Luhansk Regional Universal Scientific Library, told about the experience of their libraries and libraries of their local communities in online work during quarantine.
About digital products of the Ukrainian Book Institute (UIC) Yuriy Marchenko told about libraries, head of the PEC book publishing support department.
The third session was devoted to the selection procedure, acquisition and distribution of book products to replenish library funds in 2020 p. Every year in March, Ukrainians honor the memory of the great Kobzar, patriot of Ukraine, the glorious son of the Ukrainian people Taras Shevchenko.
Until this date 3 March in the customer service department of the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute and the Faculty of Maritime Law of the Scientific Library of NUS. adm. Makarov hosted a presentation of the exhibition "With the name of Taras Shevchenko in the struggle for Ukraine".
The exhibition was opened by the head of the service department I. IN. Kuznetsov with brief information about the life of Taras Shevchenko, dedicated to serving the Ukrainian people, and about his work, which is imbued with a passionate love for the native land.
Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of Theory and Fundamentals of Olympic Sports, Shevchenko scholar IB. Martsinkovsky continued the event with an interesting story about the historical experience of using different ideological beliefs forces of poetic heritage and biographical destiny of Taras Shevchenko.
The director of the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute made a closing speech, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor O.V. Bobin emphasizing, that Taras Shevchenko quite rightly occupies the first place among GREAT UKRAINIANS and is a business card of Ukraine.

20 February in the Electronic Reading Room of the National Library of NUS. adm. Makarov held a seminar-training "Academic integrity and electronic resources for science and education". The seminar was attended by scientists and teachers of the Faculty of Maritime Law, Faculty of Marine Economics, Faculty of Marine Infrastructure, Shipbuilding Educational and Scientific Institute, Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute, Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Science and Project Management.
The seminar program consisted of two blocks. During the first - the head of the information and bibliographic department M. FROM. In her presentation, she spoke about the importance of academic integrity, general principles of its provision, own experience in this matter, normative and organizational support of measures to prevent academic plagiarism in NUS. adm. Book exhibition "Love - the formula of life"
Already traditionally, 14 February students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering (NN IAE) NUS them. adm. Vocational training is the key to professionalism
WITH 13 by 24 January 2020 year employees of Scientific library of NUS of a name of Admiral Makarov studied at Courses of advanced training at the Nikolaev regional institute of postgraduate pedagogical education.
Honestly, it is difficult to surprise the staff of scientific libraries with something, however, the course participants were pleasantly surprised by the variety of topics, which were proposed: from the protection of human rights on the Internet to the problems of development of natural sciences and the conditions of successful human life; from ethnography in library activities to the use of office applications in the work of a librarian.
The listeners were especially interested in trainings on the new Ukrainian spelling, as well as questions, directly related to professional activities, namely: library environment design, new forms of library services, information security in libraries.
High professionalism of teachers, casual atmosphere, free communication, emotional satisfaction from acquiring new competencies - this is what librarians will remember these two weeks.
