VIII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "University Library: Modern format of educational and scientific activity in the period of global challenges »

20 In November, the Admiral Makarov Scientific Library organized and held the VIII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of its foundation. The event became a landmark event, which united representatives of libraries of higher education institutions, scientists, teachers, archivists, museum workers and publishing specialists from different regions of Ukraine.

In the work of the conference, which took place in a mixed format, more than participated 80 participants. These are managers and leading specialists of libraries of higher education institutions of Ukraine and Mykolaiv. In particular, Scientific library named after M. Tetyana Oleksandrivna Kolesnykova, Director of the Scientific Library of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology, Candidate of Sciences in Social Communications, Senior Research Fellow, Head of the section of university libraries of the Ukrainian Library Association (m. Dnipro);

Olena Volodymyrivna Surovtseva, director of the Scientific Library of Odessa National University named after I. AND. Мечникова, Head of the zonal methodical center (m. Odessa).

In their addresses, they emphasized the importance of the development of university libraries in the period of global and military challenges, emphasizing their role in supporting education, science and information security.

At the conference, thorough and up-to-date reports from leading library specialists were presented, scientific and educational spheres. With a report "Transformation of the university library: past experience and challenges of the future" performed Kostirko T. M., Director of the Scientific Library of Admiral Makarov National University of Science and Technology, Candidate of Sciences in Social Communications. She outlined the key stages of the formation of the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences and the strategic directions of its development in the future.

Modern methods of big data analysis and their impact on changing ideas about artificial intelligence was discussed in the report "Development of the theory of intelligence in modern conditions of big data processing" Sharonova N. IN., doctor of technical sciences, professor, Professor of the Department of Intelligent Computer Systems of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" (m. Kharkiv).

Stetsenko N. FROM., candidate of legal sciences, assistant of the Department of Theory and History of Law, the leading librarian of the Scientific Library of the Yaroslav the Wise National University of Law (m. Kharkiv), presented a report "The university library is a treasure trove of knowledge and a space for environmental and legal enlightenment", where she presented the experience of the NYU library named after. I AM. Wise in the formation of environmental and legal awareness of students.

Чугуєва AND. IS., candidate of psychological sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology of Admiral Makarov National University of Science and Technology (m. Mykolayiv), in his report "Temporal dimensions of war stress in civilians" highlighted the topic
the deep impact of war on the human psyche.

In the speech "The role of the library in the formation of information skills, media and digital literacy of citizens», which presented Dmitricheva V. AND., head of the Regional Training Center of the Mykolaiv Regional Universal Scientific Library (m. Mykolayiv), the importance of digital literacy in modern society and the role of libraries in its development were highlighted.

A number of meaningful reports were presented as part of the conference, that highlighted the current trends in the development of libraries, archives and museums in modern conditions.

Khayetskyi ABOUT. P., director of the museum of the Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute named after V. ABOUT. Admiral Makarov Sukhomly National Technical University, candidate of historical sciences, docent (m. Mykolayiv), in the report
"Museums and libraries of higher education institutions: forms of cooperation" outlined the key vectors of interaction between the museum and library divisions of the Higher Education Institution, focusing on joint projects and educational initiatives.

Kartuzov TO. M., deputy director for core activities of the State Archive of the Mykolaiv region (m. Mykolayiv), presented a report
"Using digital resources of state archives in teaching humanitarian disciplines on the example of the foundation «Mykolaiv Military Governor's Office", in which he demonstrated the possibilities of using archival electronic resources in the educational process.

Nikolayenko N. M., Director of the Scientific Library of the State Biotechnology University, Candidate of Sciences in Social Communications, docent (m. Kharkiv), in the speech "Using management potential in the library to ensure educational and scientific processes of higher education institutions during the war" highlighted effective management strategies, which contribute to the stable operation of the library in the conditions of martial law.

Shamrai-Yablonska N. AND., the leading librarian of the Central City Library named after. M. L. Kropyvnytskyi (m. Mykolayiv), in the speech "The word is a weapon: books about war and the public need for libraries to talk about them" emphasized the importance of forming library collections, dedicated to the theme of war, and the role of libraries in supporting public dialogue.

Director of the publishing house of Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University (m. Mykolayiv) Tikhomirova L. ABOUT. in the speech "NUK publishing house on the border of the front during a large-scale invasion" presented the activities of the university publishing house in wartime conditions.

Deputy director of the library of the Black Sea National University named after. Petra Mogili (m. Mykolayiv) wheelwright L. IN. in the speech "Libraries of higher education institutions in conditions of challenges and trials: life experience" spoke about the experience of preserving the effective operation of libraries in today's difficult conditions.

Also, according to the conference program, poster presentations were presented to the participants.

An interesting informational addition was the book expositions "New arrivals in times of war" and "Books of the publishing house of the National Academy of Sciences from the fund of the Scientific Library". The presented materials made a pleasant impression and aroused the sincere interest of the guests.

The conference became a powerful platform for professional dialogue, contributed to the exchange of experience, strengthening partnerships and finding innovative solutions for the further development of the library business.

A gift from the author!

The Scientific Library of the Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University expresses its sincere thanks to Volodymyr Ivanovich Melnychenko, to the first deputy Chief Otaman of the International Cossack Union of the Ukrainian Hetman's Army, to the colonel-general of the UGV for a priceless gift - the author's edition "Historical-canonical guide for the Orthodox Cossack of Ukraine. Part one" (Dnipro, 2021). This book is a real spiritual and scientific treasure, which deeply illuminates the historical path of the Ukrainian people, Orthodox Church and Cossacks.

It is devoted to the history of origin, formation and development of the Ukrainian ethnic group, formation and activity of the Orthodox Church. Information is also provided about the founding of the Ukrainian Cossacks by the descendants of the royal family of Danylo Halytskyi and the famous Hetmans and chieftains of the Cossack state. This edition will be useful for the Cossacks of Ukraine, priests and clerics of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, history teachers, students, school students, as well as everyone, who cares about the history of our country.

Meeting with a book on the Day of Ukrainian writing and language

27 On October we celebrate the Day of Ukrainian writing and language – holiday, which reminds us of a priceless treasure, that unites our people and conveys their thoughts, feeling and story through words. On this day, you especially feel the warmth of your native language, its melody and power, capable of touching the heart and inspiring good deeds.

Today, teachers and students of the Admiral Makarov Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute had a great opportunity to visit the exhibition, prepared by our library staff. A special atmosphere was felt among the shelves with books – as if each page whispered stories, that shaped our culture and spirituality. Reading such works inspires appreciation of the native word, preserve its purity and pass it on to future generations.

After all, it is through books that we continue the dialogue with the past, we shape the present and dream about the future.

Today, 27 October, on the Day of Ukrainian writing and language, employees of the Admiral Makarov National University of Science and Technology Library participated in writing the largest all-Ukrainian flash mob - a radio dictation of national unity. Radio dictation is a great opportunity not only to test and improve your knowledge of the Ukrainian language, and to feel a part of the great Ukrainian community.

A meeting with the famous Ukrainian marine writer Anton Sanchenko

17 October at the National University of Shipbuilding named after. Admiral Makarov had a meeting with the famous Ukrainian marine writer Anton Sanchenko.

The event took place within the framework of the book and reading festival "Veshtanka na Buza", that unites writers, readers and everyone, who loves a book.

The author told students and teachers about his path in literature, combination of sea and writing, about his own experience in swimming, which became the basis for many of his works.

Those present had the opportunity to find out, how sea stories are born, that inspires the author to write, and also talk about modern Ukrainian prose, translation and the role of literature in preserving national identity.

The meeting took place in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. There were many questions, jokes and even short improvised "sea fables" from Mr. Anton.

Pedagogical legacy of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi: in the dimensions of modernity

The scientific library of Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University took part in the work of the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference with international participation "Pedagogical legacy of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi in the context of professional education: interdisciplinary dimension".

The library presented a thematic book exhibition "Pedagogical legacy of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi: in the dimensions of modernity", dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian teacher, humanist and writer Vasyl Oleksandrovych Sukhomlynskyi. His main works are on display, research, quotes and modern interpretations of pedagogical ideas, which do not lose their relevance even today.

An exhibition was also presented at the event "Educational and scientific achievements of the teachers of the Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute named after V. ABOUT. Sukhomlynsky", which reflects the scientific and methodological achievements of teachers, their contribution to the development of modern education and pedagogical science.

The scientific library of Admiral Makarov National Academy of Sciences continues to actively participate in the popularization of the pedagogical legacy of Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi, supports scientific communications between educators and promotes the preservation of spiritual and moral values ​​of Ukrainian education.

On the All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries Department of Services of Users of the Educational and Scientific Humanities Institute and the Faculty of Maritime Law of the Scientific Library of NUS. adm. Makarova received a valuable gift - the publication of a legal profile, which have become a significant replenishment of the library fund and will promote the professional growth of future lawyers. Lectures on information culture and academic integrity for freshmen

In September, with the beginning of the new academic year, The scientific library has traditionally started a cycle of lectures for first-year students on topics: "Academic integrity: course for education seekers" and "Basics of information culture".

This year, the start was held at the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute. The first listeners were students of the group 1531 specialty B2 "Design" and groups 1541 спеціальності А7 «Фізична культура і спорт».

Лекції модерувала Катерина Сергіївна Білоножко – завідувачка інформаційно-бібліографічним відділом Наукової бібліотеки, coordinator of the group for the promotion of academic integrity at the NUK named after. Admiral Makarov.

Під час занять студенти дізналися про значення академічної доброчесності для сучасного здобувача освіти, засвоїли правила коректного використання джерел, а також ознайомилися з ресурсами й сервісами бібліотеки, які стануть надійною підтримкою у навчанні та дослідженнях.

Такі зустрічі є важливою складовою освітнього процесу, адже сприяють формуванню культури відповідального навчання серед студентів НУК. Вони допомагають першокурсникам швидше адаптуватися до університетського життя та засвоїти ключові цінності академічної спільноти – чесність, відповідальність і повагу до інтелектуальної праці.

Упродовж навчального року цикл лекцій продовжиться і для здобувачів освіти інших інститутів та факультетів університету. Наукова бібліотека і надалі залишається простором, де знання поєднуються з культурою їх чесного використання, а кожен студент може знайти підтримку на своєму шляху до успіху.

To the 180th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Karpenko-Kary

Recently, a literary and artistic event was held in the user service department of the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute and the Faculty of Maritime Law of the Admiral Makarov Naval AcademyPaths of creativity of a genius», dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian playwright, director and actor Ivan Karpenko-Kary (Ivan Tobilevich).

Education seekers are present 2 and 3 students of the "Design" specialty course had the opportunity to learn more about the artist's life and creative path, who left a significant mark in the history of Ukrainian theater. Special attention was paid to his drama, after all, Karpenko-Kary's works are "One Hundred Thousand", "Host", "Martyn Borulya" still sounds relevant today, exposing human vices and at the same time inspiring good deeds.

As part of the event, the book exhibition "We read and advise you" was presented, among the exhibited editions were also the works of the writer. The highlight of the meeting was a video clip and quizzes, that supplemented the students' knowledge with interesting facts from the artist's biography. Атмосфера заходу була сповнена любові до українського слова та гордості за нашу культурну спадщину.

Завдяки таким зустрічам ми не лише вшановуємо пам’ять класиків, а й відкриваємо для себе їхнє слово по-новому, знаходячи в ньому відповіді на питання сьогодення.

Scientific library for the 60th anniversary of economic education in the Mykolaiv region

26 September 2025 A landmark event took place at the National Shipbuilding University named after Admiral Makarov, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of economic education in the Mykolaiv region and the anniversary of the Department of Intellectual Digital Economy of the Faculty of Economics and Marine Ecology.

The presentation of the literary and artistic almanac took place as part of the event «From the sources to the present: the history of the first center of economic education in the Mykolayiv region», prepared by the Department of Intellectual Digital Economy. Two copies of the almanac were solemnly handed over to the fund of the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences. From now on, anyone who wants to will be able to get acquainted with this unique publication.

The Scientific Library has prepared a bibliographic index for the anniversary date «Through knowledge - to the digital economy: to the 60th anniversary of the Department of Intellectual Digital Economy", which contains a list of the main scientific and educational and methodological works of teachers, employees and students of the department and reflects the long-term scientific development of the department of intellectual digital economy of the National Technical University named after. adm. Makarova.

25 September, on the occasion of the 16th International Scientific and Technical Conference "Innovations in Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering", library specialists have prepared an extensive exhibition of publications, що яскраво демонструють науковий потенціал університету та його вагомий внесок у розвиток науки й освіти України.

"Freshman decade" in the scientific library

The staff of the scientific library conducted for them the "decade of the freshman" - a set of activities, that helps the new generation of students to learn about the history and resources of the library, learn to quickly find the necessary literature, work effectively with printed and electronic information and become part of the university's student community.

During the decade, library specialists also talked about that, how convenient it is to use the services of the Scientific Library website, in particular, the section "Student", which contains useful information for those seeking education and an information guide - "Excursion guide for first-year students through the space of Admiral Makarov National University of Science and Technology".

Each department of the Scientific Library prepared for the visit of the guests and gladly offered them book and illustration exhibitions, reviews of literary novelties and periodicals, which will help in learning and self-education.

The employees of the user service department of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering welcomed the first-year students hospitably NB. До уваги студентів була запропонована віртуальна екскурсія Науковою бібліотекою, під час якої окреслено основні напрямки її діяльності на підтримку першокурсників та навчального процесу загалом. Вразила та зацікавила присутніх розповідь про масштаб фондів НБ, сучасні електронні ресурси, заходи, які проводять співробітники. На етапі запису першокурсників у відділі відбулось жваве та цікаве спілкування з бібліотечними фахівцями.

Впродовж перших тижнів вересня були раді вітати у своїх стінах нове покоління студентів-машинобудівників співробітники відділу обслуговування користувачів Машинобудівного навчально-наукового інституту НБ. У легкій невимушеній атмосфері вони розповіли першокурсникам про послуги, provided by the Scientific Library, унікальні фонди відділу, ознайомили з виставками літератури. На традиційне запитання, чому корпус, у якому вони навчаються, називають «Старим», завідувачка відділу підготувала короткий екскурс в історію університету, Машинобудівного інституту та самої будівлі. Це викликало в молодих людей щиру повагу до своєї Alma mater.

Доброзичливо привітали нових членів студентської спільноти університету, які обрали спеціальність «Дизайн», співробітники відділу обслуговування користувачів Навчально-наукового гуманітарного інституту та Факультету морського права НБ.

До їх уваги була запропонована віртуальна мандрівка Науковою бібліотекою,знайомство з інформаційними ресурсами відділу, особливостями навчання в умовах вищої школи та ролі бібліотеки в його підтримці. Особливим моментом спілкування з першокурсниками стала презентація книжково-ілюстративної виставки «Дизайн: від ідеї до втілення» та мініопитування «Хочу дізнатись у бібліотекаря про …», яке допомогло створити теплу атмосферу єдності серед учасників.

Відкрити нові горизонти та залишити яскраві враження для кожного нового студента дозволили інформаційні години у формі книжкового порадника, which провели співробітники відділу обслуговування користувачів Навчально-наукового педагогічного інституту ім. Першокурсники отримали інформацію про подолання труднощів першого року навчання, освітні, навчальні та інші можливості для самореалізації і самовдосконалення, налагодження зв’язків з оточенням, грамотне розв’язання конфліктних ситуацій, збереження фізичного та психічного здоров’я та ін.

«Декада першокурсника» в Науковій бібліотеці університету пройшла цікаво та насичено, надавши студентам можливість познайомитися з різноманітною діяльністю бібліотеки, університетським середовищем та однокурсниками. Вони переконалися, що бібліотечний фахівець — це надійний порадник, який допоможе знайти потрібну інформацію та, за потреби, підкаже, де шукати додаткові джерела.

Заходи «Декади першокурсників» Наукової бібліотеки – це перша сходинка до успішного навчання та активного студентського життя. Попереду першокурсників чекають заняття з інформаційної культури та медіа грамотності, академічної доброчесності, пізнання нового та цікавого,  обговорення питань сьогодення з однодумцями та багато різноманітних подій.

Бібліотечні працівники вірять, що Наукова бібліотека відкриє для першокурсників шлях до саморозвитку та вдосконалення і щиро бажають їм упевненості у собі.

Пізнавальна краєзнавча подорож «Наш край легендоюі славою овіяний»

Гармонійно доповнив атмосферу краєзнавчої подорожі ігровий квест. Учасники активно включилися у виконання його завдань, демонструючи свої знання про Миколаїв, його архітектуру, традиції та культурні надбання. Гра стала справжнім майданчиком для співпраці та командної роботи, адже кожен мав можливість зробити свій внесок у спільний результат.

Сприятлива атмосфера та доброзичлива обстановка заходу допомогла учасникам краєзнавчої подорожі не тільки поглибити знання про Миколаїв, а й отримати заряд позитиву та солодкі подарунки. Краєзнавчу подорож органічно доповнила книжково-ілюстративна виставка «Край мій – гордість моя», матеріали якої висвітлювали велич і красу рідного краю.

Наприкінці заходу його учасники висловили думку про те, що краєзнавча подорож стала чудовим поєднанням приємного й корисного, збагативши їхні знання про рідне місто та висловили бажання про подальші зустрічі.

Recently, the Admiral Makarov Scientific Library received a valuable gift from the National Library of Ukraine named after Yaroslav the Wise - a modern textbook:

The training manual is the result of the ORTIMA project (Open practices, transparency and integrity for modern higher education) within the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. Scientists of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" joined the project, Sumy State University, Donetsk National University named after Vasyl Stus, Lutsk National Technical University, National Antarctic Science Center, National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, Graz University of Technology (Austria), Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland), University of the Cote d'Azur (France), of the European Council of Doctoral Students and Young Researchers and the international organization EIFL (Knowledge without borders).

This manual, first of all, intended for students of the second and third levels of higher education (master's and educational-scientific), who plan to implement the principles and practices of open science during research in various fields, in particular in information and natural sciences and technologies. The authors are fully aware of the importance of developing relevant knowledge and competence in the early stages of a scientific career. Excursion by the University Library - New Impressions and New Dating!

Recently, unusual guests - students visited the Scientific Library of the University 4 classes of Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 34. Since at university they were for the first time, So they were offered a cognitive-familiar story-presentation about the NUCU named after Admiral Makarov-one of the leading universities of Nikolaev.

Library is always an immense world of information, Communication with the book, which enriches life, makes it more interesting and full. The bright world of books is not only capable of teaching, and to surprise, to inspire new adventures, to make dreams come true. This emphasis was made during the presentation of the editions of the book and illustration exhibition "Colorful World of Childhood", which introduced students to interesting publications for children: encyclopedias from various fields of knowledge, cognitive, adventure and fiction.

The highlight of the meeting was the "World of Books" quiz. Students answered her questions with interest, showed themselves to be real connoisseurs and lovers of reading. They were happy to share their impressions of their favorite books.

Guests of the Scientific Library were also invited to a tour of the Argo Art Center to the exhibition "From Apprentice to Master", where the creative works of students of the municipal academic college are exhibited. Mark Twain - "Great Rearlit"

Interesting cognitive event from the cycle "Writer's business card" for group students 1341 Recently was held at the Department of Services. The literary digest was dedicated to a well -known American writer, humor, satirical, публіцисту та видавцю Марку Твену і приурочений до 190-річчя від його дня народження та 115-річчя від дня смерті.

Переглянувши презентацію “A great mocker”, яку підготували співробітники відділу, учасники заходу дізнались про справжнє прізвище та ім’я письменника, цікаві факти з біографії, кумедні випадки з життя. Зацікавила студентів інформація про те, що Марк Твен був популяризатором ідей науки і техніки та людиною з тонким неперевершеним гумором.

Презентація також познайомила присутніх з літературною спадщиною письменника. Запропоноване до уваги студентів відео“Шедевральні вислови Марка Твена” стало підтвердженням того, що письменник був ще й відомим автором мудрих цитат і афоризмів.

Розповідь про життя та творчість Марка Твена ще раз довела, що Наукова бібліотека університету надає можливість проводити вільний час з користю та дізнаватись щось нове та цікаве.

World Embroidery Day is a unique modern holiday, which is started in Ukraine, But it has reached special attention over the last years and has gained support in all corners of the world. It unites through the space and time of not only Ukrainians, But also foreigners, which support Ukraine.

Колектив Наукової бібліотеки НУК імені адмірала Макарова традиційно долучився до свята – Всесвітнього дня вишиванки, одягнувши свої колоритні вишиванки, які є символом українця і України! Кожна з вишиванок сяяла різноманітними кольорами та орнаментами!

Напередодні свята в арт-галереї «Арго» університету відбулося відкриття мистецької виставки «Від учня до майстра», на якій експонуються роботи студентів Миколаївського муніципального академічного коледжу. Відчуття від їх перегляду були неймовірними. Саме на фоні дивовижних експонатів і зроблені яскраві світлини з чарівними україночками – співробітницями Наукової бібліотеки.

By positive emotions - to the scientific library!

On the eve of World Embroidery Day and Mother's Day in the Reading Hall of Services of Users of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering of the Admiral Makarov Scientific Library, a master class "Motanka-Power of Traditions" was held. His purpose was to disseminate knowledge about the household charms of the Ukrainian people: embroidered shirts, dolls-motanki, Easter eggs, towels.

It was an incredible activity and an opportunity to spend time creatively, exciting and useful! This opportunity was used by the Student Active of the university - education seekers 1 and 2 course of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Sciences and Project Management. And together with them, university employees joined the creative master class.

Experienced craftsmen L. AND. Hrubii and V. D. Vilkul enthusiastically shared their creative experience in the technique of making Ukrainian amulets - motanka dolls. Their story about the history of the origin and the main purpose of the Motanka doll was interesting, symbols of materials, which are used for the manufacture and meaning of colors.

During the class, students and employees mastered step by step all the secrets of making a Trypil doll-motanka. After all, it is considered an ancient Ukrainian amulet, який має глибоке коріння у традиціях Трипільської культури (V-III

тисячоліття до н. е.). та є символом родинного затишку, материнства, благополуччя та зв’язку поколінь.

Вразила зацікавленість та активна участь хлопців у створенні ляльки-мотанки: юнаки поринули в атмосферу рукоділля і поряд з дівчатами власноруч створювали свою унікальну мотанку. Кожна вийшла особливою. Виготовляючи ляльку-мотанку, учасники майстер-класу вкладали у неї свою енергію, позитивні думки, власні мрії та прагнення.

А досвідчені майстрині допомагали зробити її гарною та втілити у ній важливі символи. Час пролетів непомітно, in one breath! Спілкування майстринь та учасників майстер-класу було доброзичливим та невимушеним. Всі учасники отримали неабияке задоволення від творчого процесу.

We hope so, що кожна виготовлена лялька-мотанка буде нагадувати учасникам про теплу та дружню атмосферу, яка панувала на майстер-класі, спільні емоції та неповторний день, проведений у бібліотеці в колі друзів. Майстер-клас став чудовою нагодою для всіх доторкнутися до українських традицій, ознайомитися з символікою ляльок-мотанок і власноруч створити свій оберіг.

Information Hour "Europe Day is a holiday of peace and unity"

On the occasion of the holiday - Europe Day in Ukraine, which is celebrated 9 May, Group students visited the group 1531 Design Department, Together with the teacher - Danilchenko NV. Для них співробітники відділу підготували пізнавальний захід – інформаційну годину «День Європи – свято миру і єдності».

Під час проведення заходу присутні дізнались про багатовікову історію, норми співіснування і цінності європейських країн. Акцент було зроблено на тому, що День Європи в Україні символізує прагнення країни до стабільності, демократії та безпеки. До уваги присутніх було запропоновано також цікаві факти про Європейський Союз та досягнення України на шляху до нього.

Огляд видань книжкової виставки «Україна – серце Європи» познайомив учасників заходу з літературою з фонду бібліотеки про здобутки України як держави, яка спроможна стати рівноправним членом Європейського Союзу.

Родзинкою заходу стала вікторина «Відкриємо Європу разом», яка викликала багато позитивних емоцій. Це була чудова можливість перевірити та оновити свої знання про європейські держави, розширити кругозір та весело провести час!  За кожну правильну відповідь учасники отримували солодкі призи. А переможницею пізнавальної та цікавої вікторини стала студентка Філатова Владислава.

Підсумком інформаційної години став висновок про те, що День Європи в Україні – це свято незламної єдності, солідарності, взаємопідтримки та поваги у боротьбі за свободу. І починається воно з кожного, хто мріє про квітучу Україну .

Participation in the Conference "New Names in Contemporary Ukrainian Literature"

Admiral Makarov Scientific Library Employees 22 took part in the 7th annual readers' conference in April "New names in modern Ukrainian literature", organized by the Nikolaev Regional Universal Scientific Library in the online format.

The conference was attended by teachers, Students and schoolchildren of city education institutions, Library staff. The subject of consideration was the development of modern Ukrainian literature, analysis of new works by famous writers of Ukraine, the individuality of the authors' creative voices, which have recently appeared in the literary field. In particular, considerable attention was paid to historical topics in the speeches. The connection between the past and the present is not accidental, because without history there is no future.

On the basis of the reading room of the department of service of users of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering of Scientific Library of the University 7 April has held a competition for the best translation. 7 World Health Day is celebrated in April. On this occasion, the employees of the user service department of the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute and the Faculty of Maritime Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine held an information hour for students “A healthy lifestyle is important”.

A gift from a sincere friend

On the eve of Shevchenko Days, we received a gift from a sincere friend of the library, Shevchenko expert, Cand. honey. Science, Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Olympic and Professional Sports Ihor Marcinkovskyi - journal “Numismatics and phalerology” (№ 1, 2025), in which his article was published “Badges depicting passenger ships with the name of Taras Shevchenko on board”.

In the article, the author examines the connections of Ukrainian poet-artist Taras Shevchenko with sailors, his use of sea terms and sailors' argotisms in his work, as well as the history of various types of vessels and ships with the name of Taras Shevchenko, ranging from steam shipbuilding to modern diesel-electric locomotives. The images of some of these ships on the badges of different years of publication are highlighted.

By the way, the author researched the history of ships with the name of Taras Shevchenko, and the first such vessel was a private river steam tug with a port of registration in Mykolaiv, built in 1888 year.
