At the crossroads of eras: Ivan Krypyakevich and the formation of historical science
To the 140th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding Ukrainian historian, scientist and public figure Ivan Krypyakevich by the user service department of the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute and the Faculty of Maritime Law (NNGI and FMP) A historical hour was held at the Admiral Makarov Scientific Library “At the crossroads of eras: Ivan Krypyakevich and the formation of historical science”, dedicated to his life and scientific heritage.
The participants of the event were students, who are studying in the "Design" specialty of NNGI. Program of the meeting, which was offered by the employees of the department, was diverse and contained a lot of educational information. Those present learned about the key milestones of a scientist's life path, his diverse activities, because his work covered fundamentally different spheres of social life. Emphasis was placed on the significant contribution of I. Krypyakevych in the development of Ukrainian historical science and the study of Ukraine's past, which returned our state to its original state, unadulterated history.
The presentation of the virtual exhibition was an important informative addition to the event “Creator of Ukrainian history: pages of the life and work of Ivan Krypyakevich”, which vividly revealed the identity of the famous Ukrainian scientist-academic.
Students were particularly interested in the opportunity to see the edition of I. Krypyakevich from the funds of the Scientific Library of the University.

May holidays - Mother's Day, Family Day and Vyshyvanka Day fill our hearts with special warmth, remind about the power of family values, the beauty of Ukrainian traditions and the importance of preserving cultural heritage. It was to these holidays that the opening exhibition "Mastery, that warms", organized by the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences with the assistance of the university's trade union organization. The exposition became a vivid evidence of that, how creativity can give joy, to inspire and unite people around the eternal values of goodness, love and mutual support.
Works were presented at the exhibition, made in various techniques of decorative and applied art: embroidery, beading, decorative compositions, handmade products, drawings and elements of folk art. Each of them was distinguished by originality, execution skill and unique author's vision.
Especially nice, that the exhibition united people of all ages, professions and hobbies. Among the participants were teachers, students, university staff, pupils of the Children's Development Center "Malyuk-NUK" and readers of the library.

Master class on plasticine creativity in the Scientific Library
19 In May, the user service department of the Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute and the Faculty of Philology of the Scientific Library of the Admiral Makarov National Academy of Sciences held a creative master class on plasticine creativity "Forming a fairy tale in our hands: create, linden trees, fantasize!», dedicated to the plasticine technique - drawing with plasticine on a plane. The masters of this event were students of the "Preschool Education" department.
Students of the 1st year of various specialties of the VSP "Professional College of the Admiral Makarov National Technical University" joined the creative meeting: "Computer Science", "Computer engineering", "Social work and counseling" and others. The purpose of the event was to acquaint young people with modern techniques of artistic activity, promote the development of creative abilities, imagination and emotional expression, and also create conditions for rest and relief of psycho-emotional tension.
During the event, the participants learned about the peculiarities of plasticine as a type of decorative and applied art, mastered the basic methods of working with plasticine - kneading, swinging, creating individual elements and applying them to the base. Craftsmen demonstrated the basic techniques of plasticine and shared the secrets of creating bright compositions.
The practical part involved independent performance of creative works. Work with soft material, repetitive movements and combinations of colors promoted relaxation, concentration and restoration of internal balance. The atmosphere of peace and creativity helped the participants to distract themselves from everyday worries, to reduce the level of tension and feel the joy of self-expression. During the event, a friendly atmosphere prevailed, creative atmosphere, which contributed to active communication and exchange of ideas.
The workshop ended with a mini-exhibition of creative works, during which the participants presented their own products and shared their impressions. Each work was distinguished by its originality, brightness and creative approach.
The master class received favorable reviews and aroused interest in holding further creative meetings.

Sea, books and the word: a creative meeting with Anton Sanchenko in the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences
A creative meeting with the writer Anton Sanchenko gathered connoisseurs of modern Ukrainian literature in the reading room of the Scientific Library of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, sea adventures, the history of seafaring and geographical discoveries.
Anton Vitaliyovych Sanchenko is a sailor, marine writer, translator, developer of information search and analytical systems, head of the editorial and publishing department of the Institute of the Military and Naval Forces of Ukraine - the author of about two dozen of his own books and translations of maritime-related works, in particular, the works of Raphael Sabatini, Rudyard Kipling, Dan Simons, Alistair McLean.
Mr. Anton has not visited the National Shipbuilding University for the first time, to present their new editions. However, the intimate and warm atmosphere of the reading room of the Scientific Library this time especially contributed to the sincere and relaxed communication of the participants of the meeting.
The author introduced the audience to his new edition - "The Beauties Choose Lysyansky" - a continuation of the story about Yuri Lysyansky - a native of Nizhyn, navigator and explorer, captain of the first rank, one of the leaders of the first round-the-world trip in the former Russian Empire, 1803–1806.
To the question of the moderator of the event - the head of the department of the Scientific Library, Natalia Simonenko - about the uniqueness of marine science in general and Ukrainian science in particular, about the peculiarities of the "adventure novel" genre, the figure of Yuriy Lysyanskyi, the author's appeal to the topic of war and the value of the unique publication "Digests of the Fierce War", the author answered with his characteristic sociability, humor and sincerity.
Anton Sanchenko also invited those willing to participate in the unique Contest of Ukrainian maritime prose named after. Lysyansky "Matelot", which he is the moderator of 2017 year. The author familiarized those present with the terms of participation, told about the members of the jury and the reward, which awaits the winners.
Time flew by imperceptibly, and at the end of the conversation, one of the participants of the meeting took the floor - a professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, literature and teaching methods, candidate of philological sciences Taras Kremin. He thanked Mr. Anton Sanchenko for his cooperation and noted, that the National Shipbuilding University is a partner of the "Matelot" competition and he, as a teacher, will in every way contribute to the active participation of talented students in this project.
It is worth noting, that Anton Sanchenko's books are stored in the funds of the Scientific Library, which were presented at the exhibition and aroused considerable interest among the visitors of the event.

Before Science Day in Ukraine, which in 2026 year will be celebrated 16 May, employees of the user service department of the Scientific Library at the Mechanical Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute of the Admiral Makarov National Technical University prepared an exhibition "Modern content of Ukrainian science".
The exposition introduces the current scientific achievements of MNNI scientists - monographs, professional textbooks, scientific articles, abstracts of reports and other works. At the same time, it became a platform for professional communication and discussion of the importance of science and scientific research for the development of society and the state.
Modern content of Ukrainian science is a combination of academic school traditions, innovative research and openness to the world. Today, Ukrainian scientists create not only fundamental knowledge, and actual digital ones, educational and practical products, that meet the challenges of time. The meeting was a great opportunity to get to know the library's modern digital capabilities and see for yourself, that the necessary educational and scientific information is available today in just a few clicks. The participants learned about the electronic catalog, full-text databases, institutional repository and other online resources of the library, which help you quickly find the books you need, articles, training manuals and methodical materials.
The students were particularly interested in the practical part of the event. Young people actively participated in the search for information, tested electronic services at work and discovered new opportunities for effective training and preparation for classes. Educational space of the library: let's celebrate Europe Day together
To Europe Day in Ukraine employees of the user service department of the Educational and Scientific Humanities Institute and the Faculty of Maritime Law of the Scientific Library of the Admiral Makarov National Academy of Sciences organized a thematic event for students of the first year of the "Design" specialty. The event combined cognitive information, interactive communication and festive atmosphere.
During the meeting, the participants learned about the history of the holiday, its significance for the European community and its importance for Ukraine. The discussion contributed to a better understanding of common European values - peace, cooperation, cultural diversity and development.
The interactive part of the event was a thematic quiz. Students actively answered questions about European countries, their traditions, symbols and interesting facts. Participants received sweet prizes for correct answers, which created a friendly atmosphere and added positive emotions. The winner of the quiz was a student of the group 1531 Fedorova Victoria, which demonstrated the best knowledge and activity. She received the main prize and hearty applause from the participants.
Employees of the department also prepared a review of professional literature on design. Future designers had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern publications, professional manuals and book novelties, which will be useful during study and creative activities.
The event took place in a warm and relaxed atmosphere, gave the participants new knowledge, inspiration and good mood. This proves that, that the library is an open space for learning, development and cultural dialogue, where young people find support and opportunities for development.

The past 40 years from 26 April 1986 year, but Chernobyl still reverberates in the world as a tragedy, a feat and an indelible memory of the worst man-made disaster. And even with the passage of time, this pain does not subside.

Until the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl tragedy, the user service department of the Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute and the Faculty of Philology of the Scientific Library of the National University of. adm. The presented materials cover a wide range of topics: analysis of the causes of the disaster, the great feat of the liquidators, life in the exclusion zone, environmental consequences of the accident.
The emotional dimension of the tragedy is revealed by fiction and documentary literature, which tells about the destinies of people, divided into "before" and "after". The atmosphere of the exhibition is complemented by illustrations, which became an integral part of it.
The book and illustration exhibition is an opportunity to see history through time; this is a bright memory of those, who gave his life to save millions, and a reminder of that, how fragile our world is.

Easter traditions in the library: master class on pysankari at NUK
10 On April 1, a special atmosphere reigned in the reading room of the Scientific Library - here, in anticipation of Easter, the space was filled with warmth, creativity and festive mood. Together with the university community, the library has turned into a cozy workshop, where a real miracle was born. An inspiring master class on painting Easter Easter eggs was held for students and teachers.
The program of the event was meaningful and diverse: she harmoniously combined centuries-old traditions of pysankarst with modern creative approaches. The participants had the opportunity to try themselves in various techniques, feel the symbolism of the ornaments and create your own unique Easter eggs.
The exhibition-installation "The World of Ukrainian Easter Eggs" was a bright information addition to the event., which was prepared by the staff of the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences. Books on folklore and the history of Ukrainian culture were presented at the exhibition, as well as periodicals "Folk Art", "Ukrainian culture". Festive attributes - Easter eggs - added a special flavor, dolls-motanki, embroidered towels and napkins.

18 In March, another meeting of the scientific studio "Education of the Mykolaiv Region: new scientific orientations" on the topic "Academic integrity: the way to ensure the quality of education". About changes to legislation, aimed at regulating the use of artificial intelligence (NE) in the academic field, said the head of the digital education and media culture center of the Mykolaiv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, Maksym Zaporozhchenko. He emphasized, that the formation of a culture of responsible and ethical use of digital tools in education and research remains important.
Vera Yaroshenko, candidate of political sciences, associate professor, the vice-rector for scientific work of the private scientific educational institution "Medical and Natural University" focused on the main provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On Academic Integrity" and the rules for the use of artificial intelligence (NE) in the educational space. Emphasized the importance of responsible use of sources, prevention of plagiarism and formation of a culture of honesty in the academic environment.
In her speech, the head of the information and bibliographic department of the Scientific Library of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, Kateryna Bilonozho, highlighted the university's experience in observing and popularizing the principles of academic integrity, emphasized its influence on the quality of education and further professional activity. She talked about the development of informational materials and the holding of events, aimed at revealing the principles of academic integrity.
Victoria Donii, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and Social Sciences of the Mykolaiv National Agrarian University outlined the key aspects of academic ethics and emphasized, that the teacher plays a decisive role in the formation of values, models of behavior and professional ethics of future specialists. She also noted, that the creation of a favorable educational environment is based on the principles of honesty, trust and mutual respect between all participants in the educational process.
Speech of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Public Organization "Anti-Corruption Headquarters", graduate student of the Department of History of the Black Sea National University named after Peter Mohyla Yevgenia Virlych "Observance of integrity during the preparation of scientific papers" was based on her own experience of preparing a dissertation research "August Virlych: intellectual portrait". She analyzed the challenges of upholding the principles of academic integrity, arising during the research of figures, related to the family circle.
At the end of the event, the participants reached a common opinion, that academic integrity is the foundation of quality education and scientific activity, because it provides confidence in the results of studies and research. It creates responsibility, honesty and respect for the intellectual work of others, promotes the development of critical thinking and independence of education seekers.

A training on academic integrity was held at the Department of Economics and Digital Business
Scientific Library of NUS named after. adm. Makarova conducted training, dedicated to the current topic of academic integrity. Undergraduate and graduate students took part in the event, who showed significant interest in the issues of compliance with the principles of honesty and responsibility in education and scientific activity.
During the training, the participants got acquainted with the basic principles of academic integrity, learned, why it is an important component of quality education and modern academic culture. Special attention was paid to types of academic violations, in particular, plagiarism, writing off, fabrication and falsification of data.
Students also received practical recommendations on correct work with scientific sources, design of citations and references, and also got acquainted with modern tools for checking texts for uniqueness.
The moderator of the event was Kateryna Bilonozhko – coordinator of the Academic Integrity Promotion Group at NUK named after. adm. Makarova, who shared practical advice with the students
The event was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. The participants noted the usefulness of the received information for further study and preparation of scientific works.

A meeting with memory: library employees - at the exhibition "Tested by War"
The trial of war is the most terrible of trials, which may befall a person or a country, and it is precisely through this test that our Ukraine and all of us are going through, Ukrainians. "Trials by war" - this is exactly the name of the exhibition, which, until the 4th anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, worked in the museum of the Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute named after V.. ABOUT. Sukhomly National University of Shipbuilding named after Admiral Makarov. Among the first visitors were employees of the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences, with which the museum has close cooperation.
Visitors were introduced to the sections of the exhibition by O. P. Khayetskyi is the director of the museum, candidate of historical sciences, docent. Materials about students and graduates of the institute occupy a prominent place in the exhibition, who gave their lives in battles for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Glory to the Heroes! Super mission: save the book!
20 In February, the bright and creative Children's Book Week ended at the Children's Development Center "Malyuk NUK"., dedicated to International Book Day! The event took place in the format of an interactive adventure "Super mission: Save the book!», that combined reading, the game, creativity and cognitive activity.
The guests of the Week were the employees of the service department of the Scientific Library of the Admiral Makarov National University of Education and Science Pedagogical Institute - true friends of children's reading, who prepared a bright book exhibition of children's literature, which became a real decoration of the Book Week!
Colorful publications - large and small - shone on the shelves, with thick pages and voluminous illustrations, with fairy-tale characters, animals, adventures and good stories. The exhibition turned into a real book rainbow - a space of warmth, imagination and discoveries!
Little readers turned the pages with interest and discovered new book worlds and were able to experience them, that a book is a friend, who is always there and always ready to tell a new story. Each book seemed to speak: "Open me - and I will give you a miracle!».
During the event, librarians not only immersed children in the world of fairy tales, and had a useful meeting with parents. They told, how to choose the right books according to the child's age, what to pay attention to while reading and how to make family reading a daily tradition.
Parents learned about the meaning of illustrations, the amount of text, topics and languages of publications for different age groups. Special attention was paid to that, how to develop speech through a book, imagination and emotional intelligence of children.
Library employees also took part in a master class on making illustrations for the future yarn book.
The book week has become a real holiday of reading, which united the children, parents, teachers and librarians. The meeting became a sincere dialogue about joint family reading, the role of adults in the formation of the future reader and contributed to the formation of a positive attitude towards books and the library as a space of discoveries, creativity and inspiration.

Educational and methodical seminar “Policy of open science”
A seminar for scientists of the Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute named after V.O. was held in the Scientific Library of the National Shipbuilding University named after Admiral Makarov. Sukhomlinsky, devoted to topical issues of the implementation of the open science policy in the university environment.
During the event, the participants got acquainted with the basic principles of open science, modern international and national approaches to open access, as well as the role of university libraries in supporting scientific research and disseminating its results.
Special attention was paid to the issue of research data management;
the possibilities of using the international ZENODO platform for storage, spreading and increasing the visibility of scientific publications and research data;
access and use of resources of the EIFL-Ukraine Consortium;
The participants of the seminar were also presented with the information possibilities of the "Open Science" and "Scientific Research" sections of the website of the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences, which contribute to the development of open science, academic integrity and informational support of researchers.
Within the discussion of practical aspects of scientific activity, the issue of editing and updating profiles of scientists of the Educational and Scientific Pedagogical Institute named after V.. ABOUT. Sukhomlinsky, in particular, with the aim of increasing the visibility of scientific publications and the correct presentation of research activities in the digital space.
The seminar became a useful platform for sharing experiences, raising awareness of the tools of open science and strengthening the role of the library as an information and consultation center for the scientific community of the university.
