Vasyl Stus belonged to the opposition-minded nationally conscious young intelligentsia, which openly opposed itself to the totalitarian regime. In the literary process of the sixties. Stus acted both as a young talented poet and an attentive mentor of younger poets..
It rarely harmoniously combines the inadmissibility of falsehood, intolerance of evil in all its forms and a kind of defenseless nakedness of the soul, impracticality in everyday life.
He happened to live in an extremely difficult time. Time, when a person had to choose: to be silent in spite of all oppression and humiliation and to save one's life or to keep a Man in oneself, even at the cost of his own death. Therefore, Vasyl Stus can be an example of filial loyalty to his people and such love for the Motherland.

Hour of interesting science "Mathematics is life"

25 October on the subscription of junior courses of the Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute, Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Science and Project Management, Faculty of Ecological and Technogenic Safety of the National Library of NUS (aud. 549) an hour of interesting science "Mathematics is life" took place, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian mathematician G. F. Вороного.

Generous talents, the Ukrainian land has given humanity not only wonderful singers, composers, writers, but also outstanding mathematicians. The work of a scientist-mathematician is similar to the work of a poet: as in poetry, in mathematics there are quite complex search mechanisms and filigree design of the found result. For the famous Ukrainian mathematician Georgy Feodosiyovych Vorony 2018 year - anniversary. Its so short, but a very fruitful life was like a bright flash between two dates - 15 April 1868 year and 7 November 1908 year. Therefore, the head of sector G. IN. Kostyuk and the librarian of the I category L. B. Afanasyev devoted an hour of interesting science to the scientist - a story about his life, devoted to the service of mathematics, and about scientific discoveries, known in Ukraine and far beyond. Other outstanding mathematicians of Ukraine were briefly mentioned during the event, who have made significant contributions to European and world science: AND. M. Samoilenka, M. P. Kravchuk, M. IN. Ostrogradsky, AND. IN. Skorokhod, IN. M. Glushkova, M. ABOUT. Zarytsky, IN. AND. Levitsky and others.

An original addition to the film and presentation about mathematicians was a game with crossword puzzles, шардами, proverbs and sayings. Students had an interesting and fun time in the library, where they showed erudition and knowledge of mathematics, for which they were awarded prizes and delicacies. At the end of an interesting science class, participants were treated to tea and coffee.

We hope so, that after this cognitive event, students really became interested in mathematics. After all, as the eminent Scottish physicist D. Maxwell, science fascinates us only then, When, interested in the lives of great researchers, we begin to follow the history of their discoveries.

The challenge is, to find the original in this thread, the most valuable, current information, which is presented in the book, articles, any other source and is publicly available. So, during the practical part of the event, together with students we considered in detail the main ways to find information sources in the process of scientific research in the fields of economics and management, namely: in the electronic archive of scientific periodicals of Ukraine and the electronic full-text collection of dissertation abstracts, created by the NBU named after. AND. Vernadsky; institutional repositories of the Free Economic Zone of Ukraine, including NUS repositories; catalogs of open access scientific archives: Open ONLY, ROAR; DOAJ open access log directory; directories of scientific web resources: DiRT, DART-Europe, Connected Researchers, Research Stash et al.
We hope so, that the received information and skills of search of open scientific and educational resources will encourage students to receive new knowledge and independent in-depth study of educational disciplines..

What is this book about?? A book about yachts, about yachtsmen, about sailing and yachting in general. And not only… This is a book about DREAMS, about the People of Dreams and about the Impossible.
In the preface, the publisher writes: «Among outstanding Nikolaev, who devoted themselves to the Sail, the name of Lieutenant-Captain Kryuchkov is on a par with the names of Admiral Greig, Lazarev, Butakova, Peschurova. None of the Nikolaev yachtsmen did more for development of the Sail, knife steering 1st class Yuri Kryuchkov ».
So, Yuri Semenovich Kryuchkov was also an excellent yachtsman. Selfie zone and mobile library in the NUS National Library

In September 2017 p. Employees of the Electronic Reading Room of the Admiral Makarov National Library presented a new project "Mobile Library". Increasingly, young people prefer books in electronic form. This is not surprising, after all, such books do not need a separate place even in the closet, nor in the bag. To always have your favorite publications on hand, just download them to your smartphone or tablet. Our mobile library is two benches, which the library staff personally decorated with colorful palms, in which placed QR-codes with links to e-books, located on the Internet.
This year we continued to work on creating an open library and information area and added a selfie area. Recently, young people have an irresistible desire to take selfies, so, that in search of an interesting frame especially persistent rise on cranes, towers and waterfalls. Their motivation is clear - to become more popular. That's how the idea of creating a place for memorable photos in your library came about: perhaps, in the hunt for unusual shots, someone will look at us, and someone will even "light up" it on social networks. So we combined a place for a selfie with a place, where you can read and relax. The selfie zone is an installation in the form of a big red heart and the English letter L, symbolizing the phrase "I love the library". The slogan of our project "Mobile Library" is the phrase "Read! The format does not matter!», so in the heart we have placed QR-codes with links to e-books. Here you will find many interesting books for mobile - it's historical and women's novels, fantasy, detectives, poetry, as well as Ukrainian and world classics. Books can be read for free online or downloaded to your gadgets.
Visit other selfie zones, created by the staff of our library for the All-Ukrainian day of libraries near the subscription of junior courses of the Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute, Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Science and Project Management (aud. 549) and the department of acquisition and scientific processing of literature (aud. 550). There you can not only take an unusual photo and leave your congratulations and wishes, but also view booklets about the activities and activities of the library.
We hope so, that selfie zones will help draw even more attention to the library, surprise readers, charge them with positive and cheerful mood.

Icarus. Around the World. 30 years later

21 September at the Center for European Integration of the National University of Shipbuilding named after Admiral Makarov held a memorable meeting "" Ikar ". Around the World. 30 years later ", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the completion of the first round-the-world voyage of the yacht "Ikar" in the history of Russian sailing under the command of Captain Boris Nemirov. Initiators of the event - В. IN. Matskevich, Scientific Director of the Museum of Admiral S. ABOUT. Makarova NUK, Head of the Sector for Standardization and Metrology of the University, retired captain of the 2nd rank and NUK Scientific Library. Before the start of the event, the rector of NUK, Ph.D., Professor E. AND. Trushlyakov and a member of the legendary Icarus crew, Ph.D., Honored Master of Sports, lecturer of our university A. AND. Kuznetsov solemnly opened a commemorative stand, dedicated to this brave journey, courageous crew and, of course, fearless "Icarus". The stand was prepared by B. IN. Matskevich and V. IN. Torubaroy, head of the editorial and publishing center NUK, book publisher.

The commemorative meeting was attended by: E. AND. Trushlyakov, Rector of the National University of Shipbuilding named after Admiral Makarov, as well as vice-rectors, heads of structural divisions of the university, teachers, staff, students and alumni of NKI-NUK; chairman of the trade union organization of University A. N. Tubaltsev; Head of the Department for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Department for Culture and Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Nikolaev City Council I. AND. Bondarenko; shipbuilders, yachtsmen, local historians, journalists, representatives of museums and libraries of Nikolaev.

The main characters of the meeting were the members of the legendary crew of the yacht "Ikar": An. AND. and Al. AND. Kuznetsov, FROM. IN. Circassians, AND. E. Markov, as well as members of the Icarus crew, who participated in the Columbus-92 Grand Regatta, led by the chief mate B. P. Kireev and crew members, participated in the transatlantic voyage RASE-2000 Yu. B. Zhiradkov (starpom), TO. IN. Михайленко (mechanic). The meeting was also attended by the new crew of "Icarus", who is engaged in the restoration of the yacht today, led by captain C. IN. Plahotniuc.

This "circumnavigation" forever entered the history of navigation. There was a good reason for this.: for all the years of the country's existence, not a single domestic sports vessel has circled the globe. Icarus was the first! So that, voyage "Icarus" is a kind of discovery of the "new era" - the first sports sailing around the globe on a sailing cruising yacht.

During the meeting, the crew of the "Around the World" shared their memories. They talked about the work on the project for the construction of "Ikara" in the SKBS NKI "Yakhta", about the most impressive moments of the hike, about that, how difficult it was to endure such a long sea voyage. The Team Passed The Extreme Courage Exam With Honor, courage, quick wits, professional skill. They managed to pass through the places of the "hurricane fifties", get to know more about the “roaring forties” latitudes. With honor they carried the name of the native city of Nikolaev and their alma mater across the seas and oceans.

The difficulties and peculiarities of Icarus participation in the Columbus-92 Grand Regatta were told by V. P. Kireev, and Yu. B. Zhiradkov shared his memories of the transatlantic voyage RASE-2000.

About that, how the legendary "Icarus" lives now, what the crew and the captain dream about, the captain of the yacht "Ikar" S. IN. Plahotniuc.

Not without gifts. So, IN. F. Zaretsky, graduate of the "Electro Faculty" NKI 1975 of the year, the owner of a large collection of models of famous ships and ships presented a copy of the yacht "Ikar", and A. E. Markov passed the compass, traveled around the world for our Museum of Admiral S. ABOUT. Makarova.

Famous Nikolaev book publisher L. F. Traspov, NCI graduate 1978 of the year, invited everyone 22 September to the sailing regatta of cruiser-racing yachts "Cup named after Admiral S.O. Makarov ", which this year is dedicated to the memory of the doctor of technical sciences, Professor Yu. FROM. Kryuchkov and the 30th anniversary of the Icarus round-the-world trip. He announced, that a special prize has been introduced for the winner of each group of yachts - the publication of Yuri Kryuchkov's autobiographical story "United Sail and Soul". The famous sailing ship "Ikar" also participates in the regatta as a referee ship.

In recent years, among journalists and writers, more and more often the idea has arisen to put "Icarus" as a monument. But "Icarus" is alive! With his daring campaigns, he paved the way for other yachts and sailors. And today I am ready to be a bright guiding star for young scientists, researchers and athletes.

The meeting ended with three "Vivat, Icarus!"And hope, that fate will smile on the legendary yacht more than once.
An interesting illustrative addition to the event was the exposition of archival materials, photo documents, books, exhibits of the Museum of Admiral S. ABOUT. Makarova NUK, organized by the staff of the Electronic Reading Room of the NUK Scientific Library and the Museum.

The library hospitably welcomed veterans and guests

Our difficult present cannot overshadow the joy of spring, and with it the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II. On this day, majestic monuments are covered with flowers all over Ukraine, and modest obelisks. This means, that the memory of the people is alive, that the feat of the dead is unforgettable. Victory Day is joyful and bitter. Joyful, for it has brought peace to our land; bitter, for the price of this joy is the lives of millions of our compatriots.

On this occasion 7 May the reading room of the customer service department at the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute of the Scientific Library of NUS hosted veterans, participants of a festive concert of students, teachers and staff of the university.

The event was attended by sincere words of greetings and thanks to the esteemed veterans of our university, songs of the war years were performed. Our generation is indebted to veterans for life, who went through the horrors of war and survived to this bright day. Unfortunately, fewer and fewer of them remain in life.

Prior to this significant date, the staff of the department organized book-illustrative exhibitions: "Shana for the feat, gratitude for peace ", "Immortal greatness of Victory", "In granite, in bronze, in the hearts ". The main task of the expositions is to reflect the heroism of the people, who defended his homeland; convey the greatness of his feat; to evoke deep patriotic feelings. We invite everyone to view, who wants to know more about the events of those times.

Poetry is the beauty of earthly life

Poetry is a string of sensations,
This is the music of universal love,
Poetry is a treasure of all ages,
It is a diamond the size of a word!

In life, everything starts with something: a small river from a stream, tree from the roots. And poetry enters our lives from childhood and stays with us until the end. Everyone finds something in it, close and clear. That person remains spiritually poor, who does not care about the poetic word.

To draw public attention to poetry as a source of answers to many questions of mankind, as to art, completely open to people, at the 30th session of UNESCO in 1999 year, a decision was made: 21 March every year to celebrate World Poetry Day.

On this occasion, the staff of the Service Department of the Scientific Library in the NN IAE NUS prepared a book-illustrative exhibition "Poetic Mykolayiv region" and a review of poetry always has wings!”. The presented literature acquaints visitors with lyrical works of the Nikolaev poets, which impress with their romantic excitement and generosity of feelings, thin, insightful lyrics.

So we invite everyone to view the exhibits and immerse themselves in the magical world of Poetry.
