On the eve of World Embroidery Day and Mother's Day in the Reading Hall of Services of Users of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering of the Admiral Makarov Scientific Library, a master class "Motanka-Power of Traditions" was held. His purpose was to disseminate knowledge about the household charms of the Ukrainian people: embroidered shirts, dolls-motanki, Easter eggs, towels.
It was an incredible activity and an opportunity to spend time creatively, exciting and useful! This opportunity was used by the Student Active of the university - education seekers 1 and 2 course of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Sciences and Project Management. And together with them, university employees joined the creative master class.
Experienced craftsmen L. AND. Hrubii and V. D. Vilkul enthusiastically shared their creative experience in the technique of making Ukrainian amulets - motanka dolls. Their story about the history of the origin and the main purpose of the Motanka doll was interesting, symbols of materials, which are used for the manufacture and meaning of colors.
During the class, students and employees mastered step by step all the secrets of making a Trypil doll-motanka. After all, it is considered an ancient Ukrainian amulet, which has deep roots in the traditions of Trypil culture (V-III
millennium BC. is.). and is a symbol of family comfort, motherhood, well-being and intergenerational connection.
I was impressed by the interest and active participation of the boys in the creation of the Motanka doll: the young men plunged into the atmosphere of needlework and, together with the girls, created their own unique motanka. Each turned out to be special. Making a doll-motanka, the participants of the master class put their energy into it, positive thoughts, own dreams and aspirations.
And experienced craftsmen helped to make it beautiful and embody important symbols in it. Time flew by imperceptibly, in one breath! The communication between the craftsmen and the participants of the master class was friendly and relaxed. All participants had great pleasure from the creative process.
We hope so, that every doll made will remind participants of a warm and friendly atmosphere, which dominated the master class, common emotions and a unique day, spent in the library with friends. The master class was a great opportunity for everyone to touch Ukrainian traditions, get acquainted with the symbolism of dolls-motanok and create your own amulet.
Thank you all, who visited the Scientific Library for a master class!
We hope for new meetings! In order not to miss the next interesting events, follow our news!
