Students visited the Scientific Library of Admiral Makarov National University of Science and Technology to familiarize themselves with new arrivals in foreign languages 1 and 2 course (city. 1311, 1361, 2361, 2311) Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering of the University.
During the meeting, a presentation of the book exhibition "New arrivals in foreign languages" took place. The first section of the exhibition introduced books from Canadian publishing houses, USA, Austria, Britain, which the library received as a gift. This is mainly a mathematics publication, business, economy, marketing, management, law and social relations. The second section presented publications in English and Serbian. The library received these publications as a gift from the professor of cultural studies, Head of the Center for Research on Religion and Culture of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) Wash Velikonya, who visited Admiral Makarov National Technical University with a lecture in October of this year. It was emphasized, that these are interesting and unusual publications on religion, geography and history of the Balkans, subcultures and graffiti cultures.
The program of the meeting also included a viewing of virtual exhibitions, thanks to which users have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with interesting and useful publications in English. This is grammar (view-in Oxford, Cambridge), explanatory and translation dictionaries, three unique encyclopedias: «Popular Science», "World Book" and the most authoritative encyclopedia in the world "Britannica". Virtual exhibitions on various topics are presented on the library website in the "Electronic resources" section.
The website of the Scientific Library was presented to those present at the meeting, which is a conductor in the information space, serves to promote library activities 24/7 and offered to refer to its resources more often.
Director of the Scientific Library T.M. Kostyrko spoke in detail about the availability of educational resources on the library's website, focused on the "Student" website section, which contains a lot of useful information, one of which is the coverage of issues of academic integrity, spoke about the possibility of placing works in the university repository and the possibility of using its materials during studies.
Students also liked the installation exhibition "Welcome to our Library". They enthusiastically touched the encyclopedias "Britannica", "World Book" and were delighted with the design of the covers of these unique editions.
The informative meeting turned out to be very interesting, useful and convinced the students, that the Scientific Library is truly an inexhaustible source of various educational resources for successful learning.
