14 December - Day of commemoration of the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP.

Decree No. 945 on the establishment of this memorable date was signed by the President of Ukraine 10 November 2006 year. 30 November 1986 p. the construction of the sarcophagus over the destroyed fourth power unit of the Chornobyl NPP was completed, a 14 December in the newspaper “Is it true” a message was printed to the effect, that the complex of protective structures was put into operation by the state commission. Саме ця дата є днем вшанування учасників ліквідації Чорнобильської аварії і вкотре нагадує про важливість безпеки у сфері використання мирного атома.
