Action. Educationpresented tools for improving digital literacy — the new Digital Competence Framework and the Digigrams test for librarians.
To support librarians in their professional development and to prepare them for new challenges, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine and financed by Sweden, a single standard of digital competences in the library sphere was created. This will contribute to the creation of an effective system of training and professional development of library workers and will help them become mentors in the digital world for library visitors.
The new Digital Competence Framework and Digigrams test for librarians are now available on Action.Education. The introduction of new tools for library workers will help improve their qualifications and work more effectively with the needs of modern users. With these tools, libraries will be better equipped to support communities in learning digital literacy and using digital resources, which will contribute to the development of the digital society.

Digital Competence Framework for Librarians
A librarian's digital competence is the ability to effectively perform professional duties using digital tools and resources. The framework will help librarians assess the level of digital competence, identify knowledge gaps and identify areas, which need improvement.
The frame covers 5 spheres of digital competences, which contain 25 competencies and 3 ownership levels.
Search and work with information
— the ability to find, evaluate and effectively use digital resources, including online directories and databases.
Digital communication and collaboration
— skills in using digital tools for communication with users and colleagues, organization of online events.
Creation and management of digital content
— the ability to develop, create and manage digital products and resources, in particular, websites and social networks.
Security and data protection
— knowledge of the rules for protecting users' personal data and cyber security, protection of library systems and resources.
Innovation and digital leadership
— skills in using the latest technologies to perform professional tasks and introduce innovations in library activities.
DigComp is based on the European conceptual reference model of digital competences for citizens 2.2:1 The Digital Competence Framework for Citizens.

The Digigram for Librarians is a handy tool for identifying strengths and gaps in professional digital skills in library services. The test will help assess the level of digital knowledge and skills, define areas, that need improvement, and plan further professional development.
