Every year, 26 April, Ukraine and the world celebrate the International Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl Disaster and the International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Radiation Accidents and Disasters.

This decision was made in December 2003 year by the UN General Assembly. It is on this day in 1986 In 2008, the accident at the Chornobyl NPP occurred - the largest man-made disaster in the history of mankind. Tragedy, caused by an explosion at its fourth power unit, has no analogues in terms of pollution of the natural environment, negative impact on people's health and psyche, their lifestyle and socio-economic living conditions.

In total, more were affected by the Chernobyl disaster 3 millions of people, 90 000 was resettled from contaminated areas. 26 April is a day, which reminds humanity about the dangers of using atomic energy, about the heroism of the accident liquidators, about the consequences, which this disaster brought to the environment. Chernobyl for everyone, and especially for Ukrainians, will never become the past. We bow our heads to the memory of those, who died in the fight against radiation! Thank you for your courage and bravery! We respect!
