Meet, a new local history publication in the Scientific Library!
Dear friends! We are glad to inform, that a new local history publication has appeared in our book collection - the Catalog-reference "Symbols of the Mykolaiv District", (Odessa: Helvetica Publishing House, 2024). The authors are scientists, members of the Ukrainian Heraldic Society Ihor Yanushkevich, Viktor Drobny and Roman Kochkurov. The book covers the history of coat of arms creation on the territory of the Mykolaiv district, the development of the symbolism of large cities in the 19th and 20th centuries is shown, transformational changes, which the coats of arms underwent, the difference in approaches to the creation of symbols in the imperial one, Soviet and modern periods. Brightly illustrated edition will be useful to everyone, who is interested in history, local history, a, especially, those, who knows heraldry, or only discovers this separate component of historical science.
