29 June 2024 year is fulfilled 150 years since the birthday of Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Ryumin, a scientist, an engineer, teacher, popularizer of science and technology. After graduating from the Kharkiv Institute of Technology, he came to Mykolaiv and lived in our city all his life.
IN. Ryumin is the author of more 100 books and 1000 scientific and popular scientific articles, a talented fiction writer, which belong to close 90 adventurous, science fiction and humorous stories, stories, wrote. At one time, his scientific and creative works were published in huge editions and were translated into Belarusian, spiritual identity, in German, in Tatar, in Turkmen, in Georgian, in Azerbaijani languages. Book B. Ryumin "Interesting chemistry" opened in 1926 the well-known series "Interesting Science". For 10 years this work lasted 7 reprints, becoming the most popular of all the scientist's works.
IN. Ryumin edited and published in Mykolaiv the magazines "Amateur Physicist" and "Electricity and Life", actively promoted the ideas of K. Tsiolkovsky. He taught construction skills and railway business at the Mykolaiv Technical Railway School, physics and chemistry at the Mykolaiv secondary mechanical and technical school. He worked part-time at the local rocket factory and at the customs office.
Died V. Ryumin in Mykolaiv 8 April 1937 year, buried at the Mykolaiv Necropolis. The tombstone is installed in 1937 year (reconstructed in 1966 year). На ньому напис: «Тут похований заслужений педагог, діяч науки, друг і пропагандист ідей К. E. Ціолковського В. IN. Рюмін. 1874–1937». Його ім’ям названа одна з вулиць міста. На будинку №13, по вулиці Артилерійській, де вчений прожив 46 years, встановлено меморіальну дошку.
