All-Ukrainian Library Day — a special day, when we once again realize the importance of the library and the librarian: inform, promote education and self-education, provide access to information and help navigate the information space.
"The library is a place of strength, space of freedom" — under this slogan of the Ukrainian Library Association, the employees of the Scientific Library of the Ukrainian National University named after. adm. Makarov traditionally celebrated his professional holiday together with users, having prepared a diverse program of advertising and information activities. They were all united by the common goal of creating an atmosphere, in which every visitor will feel: All-Ukrainian Library Day is also his holiday. The library staff approached the organization of events creatively and creatively, taking care not only of the content, but also about the festive atmosphere.
So, in the hall of the New Building, she welcomed all visitors to the university hospitably "Autumn festive library exhibition", unfolded against the background of the library's advertising banner. It included book and illustration exhibitions “Read Ukrainian!» (new arrivals of fiction from the library fund), "As a gift to the readers of the Scientific Library..." (autographed books from the library fund), as well as an exhibition-installation "Our home is a library" (spatial composition, created from book editions, in the center of which is the book "University Library: from traditional to digital ", created by employees for the 100th anniversary of the Scientific Library).
But not only book expositions attracted the attention of visitors. A movie was being shown on the big screen "The university library is a limitless world of knowledge" and thematic videos "Good memories of the past", "The library is unbreakable, like all of Ukraine", adding a special mood to the event. All this aroused the lively interest of students, teachers, scientists and employees of the university.
The solemn part of the holiday was opened IN. M. Brain, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, educational and humanitarian activities, professor and T. M. Skeleton, Director of the Scientific Library, Candidate of Sciences in Social Communications. In their speeches, they noted the role of the library as an important center of knowledge, science, culture and communication of the university community.
A particularly warm moment was the greetings of the library staff. They came to the holiday: M. FROM. Mikhailov, the first vice-rector, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, international and administrative activities, ABOUT. IN. Stand up, head of the educational and scientific center of international cooperation, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Digital Business and AND. ABOUT. Krotov, head of the educational and scientific center of postgraduate education. They expressed their gratitude to the library staff for their daily work and the significant contribution of the library to the support of the scientific and educational processes of the university.
By supporting the festive action "Book wave of generosity", the guests presented the library with new methodical editions of scientists and teachers of the National Academy of Sciences. До акції також долучилися й викладачі та науковці університету поповнивши бібліотечний фонд новими книгами та подарувавши їм можливість знайти своїх читачів.
So rich, яскравим і різнобарвним було відзначення Всеукраїнського дня бібліотек у Науковій бібліотеці НУК ім. adm. Makarova. This day reminded me once again: бібліотека — це не лише книги й полиці. Це люди, зустрічі, ideas, відкриття та простір, у якому кожен може знайти щось своє.
