
4 April is an important date for all residents of the Mykolaiv region: 80 years later on this very day, in 1944 year, the region was liberated from the Nazi invaders.
Memory... It lives, is calling, knocks on our hearts. And today, in our minds, we again and again flow into the past, tirelessly flipping through the heroic pages of the stormy events of that terrible war.
The occupation of Mykolaiv region lasted longer 30 months During this period, hundreds of settlements were burned by the Nazis, factories were destroyed, residential buildings, historical monuments. Human resources suffered great losses: was destroyed 74500 civilians, 30630 military, 25 thousands of people were taken to hard labor in Germany.
Fierce battles for the liberation of the territory of the Mykolaiv region began 6 March. 26 March 1944 p. a detachment of paratroopers landed in Mykolaiv trading port, which was commanded by senior lieutenant K.F. Olshanskyi. It was he who created the conditions for the liberation of the city of Mykolaiv and already 28 March troops 5 percussion and 28 armies have mastered it. AND 2 April 1944 p., as a result of fierce fighting, the territory of Mykolaiv Oblast was completely freed from Nazi troops.
The victory was won at a great price. Many people paid with their lives on the battlefields for that, to liberate our land, to provide us with a peaceful and happy life. We remember the Heroes of past generations, whose struggle and heroism made it possible to liberate the lands of Mykolaiv Oblast, and we honor them! Thanks to modern heroes, who protect Ukraine today, so that each of us has a native land!
