The scientific library of the NUK named after adm. Makarova, as part of the cycle of events "Freshman's Month", lectures on topics are held: "Basics of information culture" and "Academic integrity: course for students ".
So, 13 October Kateryna Bilonozhko, librarian 1 NB category, coordinator of the group for the promotion of academic integrity at the NUK named after. adm. Makarova, conducted another online lecture for students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering, groups 1351, who are studying in the specialty "Maritime and inland water transport".
During the disclosure of the first topic of the online lecture, students learned about the essence of the term "information culture", got acquainted with the services, provided by the Scientific Library, including remotely, in particular, about electronic delivery of documents, and also familiarized themselves with the possibility of using information in their practical activities, which is posted on the library's website and its Facebook page. Emphasis was placed on the book search algorithm in the NB Electronic Catalog using OC Android, as well as publications of their scientific works in the university repository.
The second topic was devoted to revealing the definition of the concept of "academic integrity", forms of its violation - plagiarism and its types. Students were informed about the problems, that may happen to them, if such facts are revealed in their works: essays, coursework, diploma. Freshmen were given advice on that, how to avoid violations of academic integrity and determine the correct methods of using borrowed material during education.
Conducting such online lectures is intended to help students- first-year students to develop creative and professional thinking, to form information security knowledge and skills in educational and research activities.
