24 An information event was held in May at the NUS Scientific Library, dedicated to the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture. Employees of the subscription of junior courses of MNNI, NNIK and ITN and the NNGI customer service department organized an oral journal "From the depths of the ages".

The first page of the oral journal was devoted to the history of the establishment of the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture. The library staff told about the lives of Saints Cyril and Methodius, which formed the basis of Slavic writing.

14 March in the Electronic Reading Room (ЕЧЗ) Admiral Makarov Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences, under the Academic Integrity Promotion Project, a training seminar was held for scientists on the topic: "What is plagiarism, and how to avoid it?».

Graduate students had the opportunity to learn about it, what is academic integrity, what are the ethical violations in science and how to avoid them; what is academic plagiarism, how to deal with manifestations of academic dishonesty; what are the most common violations in the design of research results; what important changes are in the new Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "About the statement of requirements to registration of the dissertation".

During the seminar were presented "Guidelines for increasing the publishing activity of undergraduates and graduate students" (authors: T. M. Skeleton, AND. IN. Cooper, M. FROM. Zhigalkin), which contains a list of basic scientometric databases and requirements for the design of scientific publications in international scientific journals, in order to increase scientometric indicators and publication activity of undergraduates, graduate students and researchers of the university. 13 March in the framework of the historical and local lore program "History of the city, in which we live and learn ", in the Electronic reading room (ЕЧЗ) NB NUK hosted a local history centenary "Mysteries of the old city. The event was attended by students of the group 4437 Admiral Makarov Faculty of Marine Economics.

Citizens of Nikolaev have something to respect the city for and to feel pride for it. How many more strangers and extraordinary are there in the history of our city! Students listened with interest to the story of the head of ECZ T. D. Queen about the history of our city and tragic events, which took place in the Temvod area. They really liked the presentation of the material and youth style of the films "Niko's Day" by Yevgeny Umanov and "Unknown City - Catacombs" by Konstantin Prikhodko.

7 March in the customer service department of the Scientific Library of NUS at the Educational and Scientific Humanities Institute, already traditionally, a festive meeting of the literary and musical living room took place, dedicated to International Women's Day - 8 March. For guests and guests, the library staff has prepared a book-illustrative exhibition "Woman - the crown of creation", which reflected the unique fate of women in works of art.

Everyone present listened to the songs attentively and with pleasure, had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the magical world of dance and take part in competitions, which made our holiday even more emotional.

Professional competence of a library specialist of a higher educational institution is the basis of his skill, which is formed due to practical experience, especially innovative. Professional competitions help to reveal the creative approach of specialists to their work.

The NUS Scientific Library not only actively participates in various competitions of professional skill, conducted by the Ukrainian Library Association, Mykolayiv Regional Library Association, leading libraries of Ukraine and. Of Nikolaev, but also organizes on its own initiative. So, in order to improve professional competence, stimulating the activity of librarians to the effective use of innovative technologies in professional activities, from April to December 2016 was held in the Scientific Library of the NMU named after Admiral Makarov professional creative competition "Creative Event".

The competition was aimed at modern, interactive book advertising, reading, library services and creating conditions for the exchange of creative ideas. The priorities of the competition were: book promotion, reading, book collection opportunities through the use of modern means of advertising; stimulating the activity of librarians to the effective use of innovative technologies; positioning of the Scientific Library as a modern information and leisure center of NUS.

In order to methodically support this professional competition, Deputy Director for Research and Library Marketing Department, innovative and methodical work of the National Library of NUS were developed: "Regulations on the competition" Creative Event "" and guidelines.

All departments of the library took part in the competition. The book collection was presented to the jury and leading specialists of the book collection 10 competitive works. This is mass events using creative forms of popularization of books and reading, namely: exposition of works of decorative and applied art "Workshop of joy of soul", thematic meeting "Visit the museum", information hour "Famous Ukrainian mathematicians", local lore hundred-year-old "Nikolaev: historical journey », hour of courage "War has passed through their souls", inform-review "Ship Territory. Memory of the times ", library quilt "Read, you will not regret ". And, were presented innovative forms of visual popularization of literature: book-illustrative exhibition-installation "The Great Battles of the Holy War" and virtual exhibitions, made using modern services: virtual exhibition "Science is the poetry of reality" (to the Year of the English Language in Ukraine) and exhibition-personal "On the right of great talent" (to the 70 anniversary from the date of a birth of the known Nikolaev poetess Ekaterina Golubkova).

Summing up the competition, jury, taking into account the expert assessments of leading library specialists, determined the winners:

• Grand Prix received the service department of the Scientific Library at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Automation and Electrical Engineering of NUS for the exhibition of works of decorative and applied art "Workshop of the joy of the soul";
• I place - Electronic reading room for local lore centuries «Nikolaev: historical journey "and the service department of the users of the Scientific Library at the Educational and Scientific Humanitarian Institute for an hour of courage" The war passed through their souls ";
• II place - library marketing department, innovative and methodical work for the virtual exhibition-personal "On the right of great talent" and the subscription of junior courses of the Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute, Computer Science Research Institute, of Engineering and Technological Sciences for the information hour "Famous Ukrainian Mathematicians";
• III place - customer service department of the Scientific Library at the Machine-Building Educational and Scientific Institute for the information review “Ship Territory. Memory of Times "and the Department of Science, of foreign literature and periodicals for the virtual exhibition "Science is the poetry of reality".

And, diplomas competition in various nominations received: information and bibliographic department of the National Library of NUS ("For creating social advertising, aimed at promoting reading among student youth "), reading room of the NUK NB service department ("For the scale in the disclosure of the topic") and a subscription to the Shipbuilding Educational and Scientific Institute, Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer and Engineering Sciences and the Faculty of Marine Economics ("For the formation of a positive attitude in student youth to universal values").

"Audience Award" received the department of acquisition and scientific processing of literature for creative New Year's design of the National Library of NUS.

The presented works testify to that, that creative work in the Scientific Library of NUS, talented people, which find innovative highlights, show a creative approach to the task.

There are many different forms of working with users and it is impossible to put an end to this. After all, working in modern conditions is a constant search for unused reserves. Therefore, the specialists of the Scientific Library of NUS strive to continue to realize all their potential, energy and professionalism, do not stop there and constantly replenish the treasury of forms of work with readers, combining traditional and innovative methods.

On Valentine's Day, many countries around the world also celebrated the International Book Donation Day, which was started by the founder of the famous children's book site in the United States Emmy Broadmoor. Its main purpose is to inspire people around the world to give 14 February book - to the library, friend, family members. It is considered, that on this day they should unite, who donates books, and those, who instills a love of reading.

This initiative was actively supported by the NUS Scientific Library and its users. In general, gift of books is a good tradition of readers of the Scientific Library of NUS, thanks to which the library fund is replenished with valuable and useful publications for teachers and students. It is on this day, as part of a permanent campaign "Give the library a modern book", our library received a gift from teachers, students and staff of the university books and periodicals. These are textbooks on geometry, jurisprudence, physics and energy engineering, domestic fiction, classical foreign fiction, collections of poems by modern poets, poets of Mykolayiv region, periodicals in English on shipbuilding and more. Many users have continued the tradition of charity. Including: Professor of Internal Combustion Engines, Candidate of Technical Sciences VS. As part of the event, a book and information exhibition was exhibited, the name of which was the statement of Professor S.. IN. Ryzhkova - "Learn all your life, and not for life ". Scientific sections are covered in the sections of the exhibition, scientific and technical achievements in education, science, production of the known scientist of the Nikolaev shipbuilding institute (MKI). In general, more was presented at the exhibition 85 scientific publications from the fund of the Scientific Library, in particular: Collections of works of MKI, articles of the Republican interdepartmental scientific and technical collection "Shipbuilding and marine structures" and publications about the life and work of Professor C. IN. Ryzhkova.

Also, at the exhibition were exhibited certificates of inventions and copyright certificates for patents and inventions C. IN. Ryzhkova, who is the author of more 180 scientific works and 32 inventions and patents, widely implemented in industry.

The scientific intelligentsia honored the bright memory of the outstanding scientist MKI. Memories of Serhiy Vasyliovych were heard here, who was personally acquainted with him.

An evening of memoirs of the famous scientist S.. IN. Ryzhkova gathered a full hall of his students, graduate students and followers, which was a testament to the recognition of his high scientific authority.
