INTERNATIONAL OPEN WEEK - 2020
International Open Access Week is held annually in the last week of October. IN 2020 p. it will take place with 19 by 25 October. The theme of this year's International Open Access Week is "Open for a purpose: taking measures for the formation of structural equality and inclusion " («Open with Purpose: Taking Action to Build Structural Equity and Inclusion». Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding supports the movement of open access to scientific information: - through the placement of scientific works of the teaching staff, employees and students of NUS named after. adm. Makarov in the electronic institutional repository eIR NUOS; - through support in free access of electronic versions of scientific publications "Shipbuilding and marine infrastructure", "Collection of scientific works of NUS". Every year our library, uses Open Access Week as a platform for meetings and educational activities. This promotion provides an opportunity to better understand the benefits, which provides open access, to share experiences, ideas for the implementation of Open Access and helps to expand the circle of members of the Open Access Movement. To successfully perform scientific and educational work, scientists and students need to quickly navigate the huge flow of information. The challenge is, to find the original most valuable in this stream, current information, which is presented in the book, articles, any other source and is publicly available. So, in the conditions of quarantine measures, associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the transition of NUS. adm. Institute of Medieval Studies, University of Friborg (Switzerland) with the support of the Andrew Mellon Foundation (New York, USA) Monday - Friday: 2007 year implements the project "E-codices. Virtual Manuscript Library of Switzerland” (Virtual Library of Swiss Manuscripts). Researchers plan to digitize all surviving ancient manuscripts from Swiss history and publish them on special site in free free access. Accompanying texts are submitted in English, in German, in French and Italian. The collection of digital copies is constantly updated and currently contains 1054 units. Among those presented on the site, special attention is drawn 500 manuscripts from the library of the famous Abbey of St. Gallen in St. Gallen. Among the rarities is the famous "Plan of St. Gallen" - a medieval drawing of the ideal model of the monastery, which arose in the early IX century. This is the only known architectural image in Europe from the fall of the Western Roman Empire to the XIII century.. The plan is considered a Swiss national heritage and is of great interest to historians, art critics and architects.Open access from the OAPEN library

The program Open Choice from Springer – this publication is more than 90 scientific journals freely and for free. The publishing house has just announced a new program Springer OpenBooks – books in free access (monographs, textbooks, reference books from various fields of knowledge). Access via SpringerLink. The books are published under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial license (CC BY-NC), allowing free and free use, distribution, etc.. not for commercial purposes.
