26 April - International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Radiation Accidents and Disasters
26 April 1986 year, the Chernobyl fire scorched the earth and the souls of millions of citizens. On this day, an accident occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant - the largest man-made disaster in the entire history of nuclear energy in the world, which changed the radiation environment, ecology, fate of people not only on the European continent, and all over the world.
In December 2016 year, the UN General Assembly declared 26 April International Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl Disaster. This day is a day of remembrance of the disaster itself and those who died in it, as well as the heroism of the station employees, liquidators, firefighters, doctors and all people, involved in liquidation of the consequences of the accident. Their feat is forever recorded in the annals of human courage and will forever remain in the memory of the Ukrainian people.
And today, on the eve 37 anniversary, we bow our heads not only to the past, but also in front of the heroism of nuclear power plant workers and military personnel of the Armed Forces, who monitor the safety of the nuclear power plant in the current difficult wartime, and we wish them good health, God's blessing and VICTORY!
