It was first noted in 2006 year, when Lesya Voronyuk, a student of Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University, invited her classmates to come to class in embroidered shirts. Teachers also supported the initiative, and students of the educational institution. For several years, Vyshyvanka Day was celebrated only within the walls of the university, In the following years, the holiday reached the all-Ukrainian level, and later on the international one. The Ukrainian diaspora around the world joined the World Embroidery Day, as well as supporters of Ukraine. No special events are planned for this day. But everyone can take part in the celebration - you just need to wear a vyshyvanka or any clothes with Ukrainian embroidery. Vyshyvanka unites us! Dress her up and make this day bright!
