26 May 2026 would be a year old 155 years since the birthday of Ivan Stepanovich Nekrasov (1871– 1945) - the professor, teacher, an engineer, public figure, an extraordinary person, which made a significant contribution to the establishment and development of technical education in Mykolaiv. Nekrasov together with other enthusiasts at the beginning of the 20th century. substantiated the need to open a secondary mechanical and technical school in the city, which became the base for the future Mykolaiv Shipbuilding Institute.
