The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has decided to provide Ukrainian scientists with access to full-text resources at the expense of budget funds (e-books) databases ScienceDirect. The corresponding order signed the so-called. Minister Serhiy Shkarlet.
"We understand the importance of providing Ukrainian scientists with access to advanced resources of scientific and technical information and scientific literature. Higher education institutions and research institutions of Ukraine will be able to set up remote access for their employees to full-text resources of the ScienceDirect database. Under quarantine, this will allow scientists to work with scientific literature, necessary for research, in a format convenient for them ", - said the head of the Ministry of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet.
This decision was made on the basis of the recommendations of the Commission on Access to Electronic Scientific Databases.
Ukrainian scientists will have access to:
• e-books in the full-text ScienceDirect database (over 39 thousand. e-books collection All Access Books) - within a 12-month period from the date of concluding the relevant contract based on the results of the procurement of services;
• SciVal analytical platform for six institutions, previously defined by order of the Ministry of Education and Science, - to 31 May 2021 year.
in addition, all institutions, which will take steps to connect access to the ScienceDirect database, will also be provided to 31 May 2021 year access to the international scientometric database Scopus.
