17 March. employees of the user service department of the Scientific Library at the Mechanical Engineering Educational and Scientific Institute of the Ukrainian National University named after. adm. Makarov took an active part in the online tutorial "Continuing the case of Rudolf Diesel", dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth of the inventor and the 130th anniversary of the publication of the engine patent.
The organizers were professors of the Department of Internal Combustion Engines, installations and technical operation Vasyl Nalivayko and Acting Director. head of the department Oleksiy Gogorenko, and a wide representation of participants - (students - diesel engineers of NUK, employees of the institute, representatives of the Kherson and Pervomai educational and scientific institutes, Pervomaisky Vocational College, graduates of the department) brought, that the complex mysterious fate of a talented engineer still arouses interest.
Professor Vasyl Nalivaik's report on the fate and invention of Rudolf Diesel was accompanied by a presentation, which was jointly prepared by Natalya Simonenko, head of the Science Library department, and acting. head of the department Oleksiy Gogorenko.
Later, the participants "moved" to another location - to the Scientific Library, where they were presented with the exhibition "Rudolph Diesel: talented and mysterious". The attention of the participants was focused on the diversity of scientific, popular science, journalistic publications, devoted to the life and work of the German genius. Part of the materials for the exhibition was provided by Vasyl Nalyvaik, for example, highlight of the exhibition – reprint edition 1902 of the year "Diesel Thermal Engine" authored by engineer Marion Lyutoslavskyi.
Photographs from the newspaper "Diesel Facts" decorated the exhibition, which recently added to the fund of English-language periodicals of the department.
Documents, illustration, 3D-models are clearly demonstrated, how important Rudolph Diesel's invention was to human civilization.
