The scientific library of the National Academy of Sciences for the Day of Dignity and Freedom
21 November according to the decree of the President of Ukraine P. Poroshenko no 872/2014 the Day of Dignity and Freedom is celebrated in Ukraine. The holiday was established "for the purpose of establishing the ideals of freedom and democracy in Ukraine, preservation and transmission of objective information about fateful events in Ukraine at the beginning of the XXI century to modern and future generations, as well as paying due respect to patriotism and courage of citizens, who stood up for the defense of democratic values, human rights and freedoms, national interests of our state and its European choice...". On this occasion, the user service departments of the Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences organized thematic photos- and book and illustration exhibitions:
