The Scientific Library congratulates on the holiday - World Embroidery Day!
Vyshivanka is the spiritual armor of Ukrainians.
It is celebrated annually on the third Thursday in May World Embroidery Day - international holiday, designed to preserve Ukrainian folk traditions through ethnic embroidered clothing.
Embroidered shirt for Ukrainians around the world is a symbol of Ukraine - especially for those, who once left their native land in search of a better fate. World Embroidery Day has become a holiday of unity of Ukrainians, intergenerational connection, joy of life and positive mood.
In the conditions of full-scale war in Ukraine this holiday has special value, because the embroidered shirt is a symbol of the indomitable Ukrainian people.
19 May everyone, who wants to emphasize their Ukrainian origin, and simply support Ukraine, can wear an embroidered shirt.
And yet, that this year there will be no mass events on the occasion of the holiday, every Ukrainian can honor traditions in the family circle.
