A creative meeting with the writer Anton Sanchenko gathered connoisseurs of modern Ukrainian literature in the reading room of the Scientific Library of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, sea ​​adventures, the history of seafaring and geographical discoveries.

Anton Vitaliyovych Sanchenko is a sailor,  marine writer, translator, developer of information search and analytical systems, head of the editorial and publishing department of the Institute of the Military and Naval Forces of Ukraine - the author of about two dozen of his own books and translations of maritime-related works, in particular, the works of Raphael Sabatini, Rudyard Kipling, Dan Simons, Alistair McLean.

Mr. Anton has not visited the National Shipbuilding University for the first time, to present their new editions. However, the intimate and warm atmosphere of the reading room of the Scientific Library this time especially contributed to the sincere and relaxed communication of the participants of the meeting.

The author introduced the audience to his new edition - "The Beauties Choose Lysyansky" - a continuation of the story about Yuri Lysyansky - a native of Nizhyn, navigator and explorer, captain of the first rank, one of the leaders of the first round-the-world trip in the former Russian Empire, 1803–1806.

To the question of the moderator of the event - the head of the department of the Scientific Library, Natalia Simonenko - about the uniqueness of marine science in general and Ukrainian science in particular, about the peculiarities of the "adventure novel" genre, the figure of Yuriy Lysyanskyi, the author's appeal to the topic of war and the value of the unique publication "Digests of the Fierce War", the author answered with his characteristic sociability, humor and sincerity.

Anton Sanchenko also invited those willing to participate in the unique Contest of Ukrainian maritime prose named after. Lysyansky "Matelot", which he is the moderator of 2017 year. The author familiarized those present with the terms of participation, told about the members of the jury and the reward, which awaits the winners.

Time flew by imperceptibly, and at the end of the conversation, one of the participants of the meeting took the floor - a professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, literature and teaching methods, candidate of philological sciences Taras Kremin. He thanked Mr. Anton Sanchenko for his cooperation and noted, that the National Shipbuilding University is a partner of the "Matelot" competition and he, as a teacher, will in every way contribute to the active participation of talented students in this project.

It is worth noting, that Anton Sanchenko's books are stored in the funds of the Scientific Library, which were presented at the exhibition and aroused considerable interest among the visitors of the event.
