State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine (further DNTB of Ukraine) with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in cooperation with ORCID during September and October 2021 year (29.09; 01.10; 04.10) will hold a series of webinars and workshops on the topic: “Use of permanent identifiers of scientists and institutions, their role in the scientific ecosystem. ORCID tools for scientists ”.
A series of webinars on the use of permanent ORCIDs to identify researchers and institutions, combining and improving the searchability of scientific work. exept this, we will talk about the benefits of using open tools by institutions, which offer ORCID to improve the research infrastructure, and the relationship between persistent identifiers, open access and FAIR data.
We will also talk about the National Electronic Scientific Information System (URIS – Ukrainian Research Information System), because it is associated with persistent identifiers. The unique ORCID identifier allows scientists to distinguish their scientific results from others and ensure recognition of their work, in particular, among foreign colleagues. The ORCID helps scientists save time and research, reduce effort, which go to the processing of duplicates in scientific data systems, provide affiliation with institutions, grants, publications, expert assessments and maintain the quality of such data.
Webinars are designed for heads of higher education institutions / scientific institutions, Ukrainian scientists, editors and members of editorial boards of scientific publications, librarians, research information providers, donors, young scientists, applicants for higher education and for all supporters of open science.
To participate in a series of webinars, everyone must register. The webinars will take place online using the Zoom platform and live on YouTube-channels of DNTB of Ukraine.
